THE SHEDULE P R O G R A MME O F E VE N T S 2 0 1 6 - 2 0 1 7

As we enter an exciting new year it is clear that Cokethorpe now offers even more opportunities for its pupils and wider community than ever before. With the revised timetable and expansion of the AOB programme, there are more activities to participate in and more chances to take in the work of others. Pupils: get involved, try something new and support your peers. There is so much to gain from participating in a wide range of activities outside of the classroom and it is no coincidence that the most academically successful pupils are those who say ‘yes’, take part and engage in a variety of activities. Parents: come to our concerts, performances and exhibitions, you are always welcome. Involve yourself in what Cokethorpe has to offer you; enjoy the thrill and hilarity of the CPA Murder Mystery and come and sing in the Choral Society even if you have never sung before. Encourage your children to embrace as many of the opportunities Cokethorpe has to offer as they can. The arts are here for all of us and are what make our community so special. As the American author Kurt Vonnegut said, ‘To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it.’ I look forward to seeing you all at some of the exciting events this academic year has to offer. Mr J E Hughes Director of Music
