Information for Guest Presenters Thank you for either agreeing to, or taking an interest in, giving a presentation. The details below should give you a sense of our programme and help your preparations.

Enlightenment Lectures We have about 135 students in the Sixth Form.

The lectures are delivered by hearing from those who have achieved significantly in their own lives, or who have an expertise to share. See www.cokethorpe.org/enlightenment-lecture-programme/ for details.

Superb speakers Some speakers give formal lectures; others more interactive ones as they roam the floor. Some use PowerPoint, others bring demonstrations.

Some punctuate their talk with direct questions to individuals. Some differentiate questions randomly, by birthday or by row.

Whatever your preferred style, we find involving students engages them: ‘quizlets’, issues to vote on, video clips and acting parts have featured so far this year.

Please use whatever you’re comfortable with. The best presentations have a duration of about 35-40 minutes, which allows for questions thereafter.

Fee and Invoice Whilst we cannot offer corporate-style fees, we can be flexible. Your fee and travel costs are negotiated at the point of invitation to speak at the School.

For legal reasons, we require from you a written invoice for your services showing: beneficiary name, bank name, address, account number, sort code, title and date of event, and contact details.

We welcome your invoice as soon as possible after the point of offer confirmation. This is so we can secure your services and help manage our rolling expenditure.

Schedule Lectures take place on Mondays. Tuesdays and Thursdays are possible alternative, the schedule on Thursday being 12.00pm and 12.50pm.

Arrival and Security Our postcode is OX29 7PU, the School can be found on what3words at location: apples.enjoyable.venue.

The law requires we ask you to present your photo ID at reception, preferably in the form of a passport or Driver’s Licence. Please ensure you have this when you come to Cokethorpe. The School will copy and check this on arrival.

Please wear your temporary ID badge at all times, returning it at the end on sign out.

Final words We like to record and transcribe a few words of feedback from you before you leave for our website and publications. Please feel free to be candid!

Equipment Presentations are delivered in our multi-purpose venue The Shed.

Seating:

Tiered, capacity for 170 people, facing toward carpeted performance space. Black out available.

Lectern available upon request.

Lighting:

Full lighting rig with general LED lighting.

Sound:

PA, supporting MP3, iPod and tieclip mic.

Vision:

Ceiling-mounted digital projector. Images onto wall-mounted screen, 560cm x 270cm.

Screening from flash drives (e.g. memory sticks) & the internet possible.

Other:

Flip charts and white boards are available to use.

You will be asked in advance to confirm your requirements in advance. The law, and our risk assessment policy, means I need to have a copy of your presentation at least a week before delivery. This also enables us to have a back up in case the IT goes wrong!

Our IT Department find it especially useful to know if you: Need to combine any of the above

Are a Mac user (and have the necessary adaptors)

Have any other connectivity requirements

iPad display can be replicated, if required
