Anna Jayne Creative 360 packaging and campaign design for Beauty and Fashion
Anna Jayne Creative launched in March 2024 by Anna Withey (OC 2014) and is a multi-faceted creative agency within the beauty and fashion sectors. AJC’s services includes trend forecasting, colour strategy, packaging design and campaign creation.
Anna studied Psychology at Bath University and followed this with a three-month intensive design course at Shillington College. Over the last three and a half years, she has been working for Tangle Teezer, where she developed a new role for herself as a packaging design specialist and colour trend forecaster. Anna’s work during this time can be seen across the global retail landscape; from Sephora on the Champs Elysées to China Duty Free and even in our local Boots, Superdrug and Sainsbury’s stores. However, one of her proudest achievements is her selection as one of Paris Packaging Week’s Future Leaders in Packaging for 2024. She was chosen for her success at Tangle Teezer, notably that the brand has seen a 54% increase in sales of their Christmas collections since she was appointed lead creative on festive packaging. She was also selected for the success of her first large scale collaboration project with Mattel’s Barbie, in which she led on colour concepting, packaging creation and campaign design strategy. As a part of the initiative, she was asked to speak on a panel at the show in Paris where she discussed her ambitions for the industry and the exciting innovations coming in the next few years.
Reflecting on her formative years at Cokethorpe, Anna credits the school for nurturing her creative spirit. Mrs Brown in particular, hugely championed Anna pursuing a career in design and is someone she is regularly grateful for having as a mentor during her education. Cokethorpe gave Anna a space to experiment with different avenues and it is that freedom which has led her to a colourful career. The opportunity to study Psychology, Photography and Design isn’t available in every school but it is now the backbone of her new business.

Cokethorpe Bursary Alumna, Shannon Skeffington
On receipt of a bursary award, Shannon Skeffington was able to complete her studies at Cokethorpe and access all the School had to offer. This enabled Shannon to combine her passion for learning music and the sciences. After being introduced to Psychology she instinctively knew that this was the career path she wanted to follow.
Shannon has gone on to study for a PhD in Psychology and is at the forefront of research into the relationship between music psychology and brain injury rehabilitation. She credits excellent female teacher role models at the School who inspired her to aim high. Her PHD thesis is Music and its Uses Across the Lifespan. Shannon’s research highlights the importance of music in improving mental health and wellbeing for all ages, something that is even more relevant in a post-pandemic era. The number of young people, in particular, who are struggling with mental health issues has been increasing significantly. Listening to music or playing an instrument sets young people up with coping strategies to maintain good mental health that will stay with them for life. Music is also a wonderful subject that promotes connectedness and skills such as memory and focus.
At Cokethorpe, Shannon participated in the music programme through singing lessons and that inspired her own research today, perfectly demonstrating how music and science go hand-in-hand and are both important in education and setting up skills for later in life. It is thanks to Cokethorpe that she was equipped with these skills.
‘I started Cokethorpe as a shy, quiet young girl and left a well-rounded individual, equipped with the academic grades and personal skills to succeed in my chosen career path. Something that would never have been possible without Cokethorpe.’

Sharing our Vision for 2027 and beyond
As we approach our 70th anniversary year in 2027, Cokethorpe is embarking on a campaign to transform our educational offering, providing further benefit to our wider community in West Oxfordshire and beyond, ensuring a brighter future for all.
To achieve this, we are undertaking an extensive Transformational Campaign that will rely on partnerships and investment to realise our goals. We are seeking to reimagine our school site, providing benefit to all areas of what the School offers, creating new spaces for Science, the Arts, and our Prep School, all the while being mindful of sustainable development and our commitment to becoming carbon neutral.
Core to the School’s strategic intents is the development of young men and women who will leave the School as true global citizens, ready to make their mark in a rapidly changing world. We will do this in a school environment that advocates sustainability by demonstrating how we will manage and develop our assets, from the use and purpose of our buildings to the careful management of our parkland.
With support, by 2027 – 2030, we aim to:
1. Engage significant financial investment to fulfil our transformational vision, which will be measured by the impact it has on our School, our community and beyond
2. Be known for inspiring pupils who take science to new levels
3. Have an outstanding Arts Hub that is accessible to a broad and diverse audience
4. Celebrate our role as custodians of the planet
5. Ensure we are economically sustainable.

Cokethorpe Parents’ and Friends’ Association (CPFA)
The Cokethorpe Parents’ and Friends’ Association (CPFA) is made up of all parents and guardians of current pupils, as well as members of staff and governors of the School. The general aim of the Association is to give parents, staff, and governors the opportunity to meet informally and socially.
Run by a dynamic committee of volunteer parents, the CPFA meets regularly to discuss and plan the fabulous spectrum of events the Association supports and runs. These occasions invariably draw a large crowd, bringing our community together for great socialising and networking opportunities.
Popular events include the Fireworks Extravaganza, featuring bonfires, fairground rides, mulled wine, candy floss, and a meticulously choreographed fireworks display; the Peacock Ball, an elegant soirée, set against the picturesque backdrop of our parklands celebrating the Sixth Form leavers and their families; and the perennially popular Murder Mystery Evening written by and starring members of staff.
Funds raised by the CPFA through their events programme and other activities, such as the Nearly New Uniform Shop, are put towards important School projects, such as the installation of an imposing new Climbing Tower, the restoration of the historic Chapel (with records dating back to 958 AD), and the preservation of the majestic statue, known affectionately as ‘Keith the Peacock’. The giant, magnificent sculpture of ‘Keith,’ a fixture on the sweeping approach to the Mansion House, owes his longevity, in part, to the integral role played by the CPFA who invested in the repair work needed.

As this new Business Directory brings together our parental and Old Cokethorpean communities, it echoes the collaborative spirit of the CPFA. For parents with a willingness to engage more actively, an array of opportunities exists, best explored through dialogue with committee members during events or coffee mornings. With the diverse range of activities that the CPFA facilitate, there is undoubtedly a niche for everyone, both in terms of participation and deeper involvement.
For those interested in contributing, the CPFA extend a warm invitation to become new Committee members. Interested parents and guardians can find out more by speaking with current Committee members. The coffee mornings take place every Friday morning from 8.45am during term time at the on-site UE Coffee Shop.
At the heart of the CPFA are the School’s parents, who are the driving force behind the Association. We extend our sincere gratitude to the parents who steadfastly support the School, whether through the CPFA or initiatives such as the Cokethorpe Business Directory. These endeavours not only foster connections but also cultivate enduring friendships, enriching the fabric of our community for years to come.
