In2023, theCityacquiredtwoproperties near our RecCenter alongPipelineRoad, theMasonicLodge,andtheVal Oaks ShoppingCenter TheCityacquiredthem withplansfor futureimprovementsand partnershipwiththeprivatesector under theCouncil?sstrategicleadership.Both propertieswerepoorlymaintained and createdaroadblockfor future redevelopment Additionally,therewere publicsafetyconcernsasthevacant shoppingcentersandneglected propertiescausedissues Theacquisition of bothpropertiessupportsfuture infrastructureastheCitycanuseland adjacent totheRecCenter for expanded elevatedwater storage Without the purchaseof theMasonicLodge,the groundnear theRecCenter wasnot considered for possiblefuturerecreational use.Now,withtheadded citypropertyin front of thereccenter,wecanenvision usingthat propertyinconjunctionwith our RecCenter andCentral Aquatics Centers.

TheHurst ProjectsandFacilitiesstaff completed thereplacement of theHurst PublicLibrary's40+ year-oldHVACsystem.
Facilitiesstaff successfullyinstalledthesystem onceit wascranelifted tothetopof thebuilding. Coordinationwassuccessful largelyinpart toour StreetsDepartment,who helpedmanagetraffic control duringthelift of thenew ACunit tothe roof

streets Theyapplied HA5seal coat to another 6.0lane milesof asphalt, ensuringthat your streetsremain potholefreefor aslongaspossible.

tower will helpmitigatepotential negativeimpactsto southHurst inthe event that oneof theother towers hastobeshut downfor maintenance.
