Saylor’s photographs frame the elemental aspects of their subjects and focus attention on their materiality, their contexts, and their implications. Saylor’s photographs have helped define the broader cultural context of the late 20th century design. His photographs have been fundamental in the ongoing dialogues of the interior design movements and the growing incorporation of nature and natural elements in our homes, workplaces and life. NEW AT DCOTA DCOTA welcomes Abitare - Versace Home Abitare-Versace Home first opened in September 2013 in Miami, marking that location the first showroom in all of the United States for them, and the changes for this ever evolving Italian company does not stop there, as they are relocating to The Design Center of the Americas from the Miami Design District.

The Versace Home Collection has been the extension of the creative universe of Gianni Versace, from fashion, design, and the passion for all forms of arts; theater, dance, painting and sculpture. PRODUCT NEWS Donghia Showroom, Suite C-250 Inspired by the distinctive blue dye associated with intuition and mindfulness, Maya Romanoff’s limited edition collection has its roots in Maya’s studies in India and Southeast Asia in the late 1960s.

Apprenticing in time-honored fabric dying techniques began his lifelong quest to interpret these pigments and methods for the wall. This brand new collection presents three signature designs reinvented in fresh Indigo: Anniversary Crystal, River Bed and Weathered Metals wallpapers – all painted by hand in the Maya Romanoff Chicago studio.

Lee Jofa, Suite C-150 Ithaka, a new fabric collection from Lee Jofa, was inspired by the poem “Ithaka” by Constantine Cavafy. The collection includes two warp-printed ikats, woven in the traditional style in silk and a cotton linen blend. A wood-blocked chintz has been adapted from an early 19th century trade cloth, and a richly colored block printed linen takes inspiration from the largescale 18th century suzani embroideries of Uzbekistan. The designers at Perennials had a notion that if they blended modern sophistication with traditional western cues, they might end up with something fresh, pretty, and timeless. There are 65 new fabrics to lay your eyes on, including sheers, stripes, textures and patterns. There’s even embroidered velvet called “Concho.” Now remember, these are from Perennials so you know they’re tougher than a rattlesnake’s hide against UV light, stains, dirt, mildew and moisture.

Pindler, Suite C-230 Pindler’s New Exclusive Big Sky Collection is an authentic Southwestern grouping that gets its inspiration from classic design icons of the American Indian culture. Tai Ping, Suite C-228 Visit the Tai Ping showroom to view the Han Feng Collection, designed in collaboration with accomplished fashion and costume designer Han Feng. A meditation on Feng’s two-decade long career, the collection recreates her signature aesthetic motifs and couture techniques in large scale, resulting in stunning trompe l’oeil and other abstract visual effects. The nine handmade designs in the series display a lyricism that gives movement and dimensionality to an interior. Crafted in combinations of wool, silk, flax and lace, the vibrant rugs required skilled craftsmanship to mimic pleats, ruffles and embellishments.

The Juliette Cigarette Table with Blue Mirror was designed by Windsor Smith for Century Furniture. The idea of this table is loosely based on a pair of vintage mirrored tables Windsor once owned. The mirrored top provides a watery reflection of the candlesticks or flowers you place on it so it is as much a treat sitting next to as it is enjoying it across the room.
