We have once again hit our past-maximum capacity, and it’s time to lighten the load on our summer grazing pastures. We feel that we are putting our best foot forward in this sale and are offering up females that are front-pasture type of cattle.
If you’re looking for females with real-world performance that offer width, mass, and look— with a balanced genetic profile—I feel that we have several to choose from in the offering. If you’re looking to find the next donor that’s in the top 1% for TSI, this probably isn’t the sale for you. I haven’t been successful in making cattle that work in our environment, are built the way we like them, and have that genetic profile.
The females can be viewed anytime before the sale. If you’re into live music and craft beers, then make plans to stay for Oktoberfest—a festival under the tents hosted by Courtland, the “best small town in America.” We look forward to hosting friends old and new for Volume II of our Select Female Sale.

GUARANTEES
Unless otherwise noted, All bred females were confirmed bred by either Dr. Brock Hanel or Dr. Eric Harms in August. Buyer assumes all risks for injury or management decisions outside genetic control.
RETAINED EMBRYO INTEREST
Cody Cattle Company will retain the right to 2 flushes on each female sold, with a minimum of 7 embryos per flush. Flushes at buyer’s convenience.
VIDEO PREVIEW OF SALE CATTLE
Videos of the sale cattle will be available online the week prior to the sale.
VIDEO AUCTION
All cattle will sell while being viewed on large screen monitors in the sale facility. There will be multiple large screens playing videos of the animals while the respective animal is being auctioned. Cattle will not come into the sale ring during the auction and will not travel through equipment during the auction. Please make plans to arrive early and preview the sale offering prior to selling.
TRUCKING
Please arrange for transportation immediately following the sale. The sale staff will assist buyers in coordinating transportation where possible.

Where do we start here? She’s bred right, looks right, and has all the extras. Square, hard feet that all go the right direction on a flexible skeleton, while being attractive and massive. If a junior ends up with her, she will be tough in the ring but her true value will be in the donor battery.
The boldest and roundest ribbed of the 3 flush-mate sisters. This one will make powerful bulls or if one was inclined to make steers with true width, dimension and quality she has true breeding value. As a baby she was a standout and has always had the presence and arrogance of a good one.
We’ve had some visitors here and this heifer’s maternal mass and functional build has started her a fan club. I’ve told several people that if John Griswold was a Charolais breeder this is what I think his cow herd would look like.
These would be full sib matings to lots 1-3. We feel that the bulls have been admired by breeders averaging over $10,000, and these first 3 lots are the only females of this mating to be offered. The way their older sisters look it makes me wonder what I’m thinking.
Johnny Ringo created some buzz at NWSS this year, and several breeders tried to take him home at our sale. With 6644 being our bell cow that works on every bull we’ve tried, we’re confident that this is a mistake offering these eggs.

It’s line breeding if it works, and we feel it did what we hoped. If you’re serious about being in the hunt with a heavy bred this is my recommendation. You can see how MaKayla Houck got along with a maternal sister 2 years ago—she won early and late but looked incredible as a bred, even better as a cow.

Lot 11 has an elegant front, flat shoulder, level top, and her belly is coming. She’s our softest and best haired one. Her dam got injured in June and didn’t milk as well as she should have, so she’s a little behind (but quickly catching up.)

The Cody Cattle Co. Collegiate Scholarship Program was developed as a way to give back to the Charolais and beef industries. We believe that one of the best ways we can give back is through supporting youth in their continuing education efforts.
One $1,000 dollar scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or current college student for the upcoming academic year. Due the caliber of applicants in the inaugural year (2021), CCC presented two additional scholarships in the amount of $500 each.

When you try and create excitement for a sale, there are certain females you don’t want to part with. This would be one!! She is the reason we bred 8056 back to Mescalito—we ended up with Johnny Ringo. Instant donor cow after she calves.

A really good young cow that’s basic build is ideal. Round that Bend would be another full brother to Resource that’s making beautiful females for Brobergs.
Maternal sister to lot 11. These Probity females are about as good as they get: square, hard feet with flexible joints and awesome udders.
Miles Ahead females are front pasture type females with refined teet structures, excellent udder attachment and a strong maternal drive. The bottom side of her pedigree is not bad either.

A 3/4 sister to Lot 42 and one that Mason showed competitively. Resource added the milk and mass that P-Fuzz lacked. A really solid female. The only Monumental in the sale backed by the great 1140
MATURE COWS
8506 is a female that out-produces herself every year. She consistently weans a big calf and her sons have averaged more than $9,000 in our bull sale. Here is about as maternal of a bred female as we can offer. We continually take her to power and the results don’t disappoint.
Dam of Lot 29. Big beautiful cow here for the guys that like a bit more scale and extension.
Is 6109 past her prime? To me she still looks like a 5-year-old cow and produces like one as well. Blue Value and 7M daughters are always nice to keep a few around.
