By the beginning of 1972 Genesis could have been forgiven for thinking that they would never achieve success with their unique brand of progressive rock. It is something of a cliché to describe albums as being ‘make or break’ but there was certainly an element of that in relation to the band’s fourth studio album, 'Foxtrot'. In this issue we look at the creation of and reaction to this important album, with insights from band members and an in-depth track-by-track analysis. We also take a look at the release of 'Genesis Live' – the band's first live album, comprising of recordings of the tour in support of the 'Foxtrot' album.
