Compact 4-way cardioid line array system

CODA AUDIO has always challenged the limits of conventional loudspeaker design. Many performance issues begin in the mechanical domain, and correcting them later with electronics only hides the real problem. Our philosophy is simple: engineer solutions at the source, from raw materials to the final system, with no compromises.
This approach led to the RAY series in 2012 — a system platform that delivered complete freedom in design and control, and crucially, enabled true, no compromise cardioid deployment at the system level. Those solutions remain fully relevant today because they solve problems mechanically, not cosmetically. But certain applications demand the practicality of a single box format, and traditional cardioid enclosures came with unavoidable trade-offs: limited bandwidth, excess size and weight, and phase instability.
Years of focused R&D resulted in WIDEBAND Cardioid™, a patent pending technology that removes those compromises entirely. It delivers full band width, mechanically correct cardioid performance in a single enclosure — whether line array, bass extension, or subwoofer.

Introducing the first model in the new FORCE range: ViFORCE™, a compact 4way cardioid line array system featuring 3D adaptable directivity control. Designed from the ground up, it combines new drivers, advanced materials, and CODA’s proven patented technologies — including WIDEBAND Cardioid™.
At just 60 cm wide and only 29 kg, ViFORCE™ delivers unprecedented performance for its size. It pairs seamlessly with the new SUB FORCE™ 35, a slim, flyable, sensor controlled 3 × 15” cardioid subwoofer engineered for maximum output and precision.
Powered by the LINUS DSP and amplifier platform, the system offers remarkable flexibility with plug and play operation and switchable modes. It adapts effortlessly to a wide range of show types — from DJs to rock bands to orchestras — and suits both touring and permanent installation applications.
ViFORCE™ delivers exceptional performance with an equally exceptional environmental footprint. Its compact size, low weight, and efficient design reduce the resources needed for deployment — from trucking and rigging to power consumption and crew time. The system maintains clean sightlines, throws further with less energy, and operates with outstanding efficiency thanks to its mechanically correct cardioid architecture.
With plug and play simplicity, adaptable modes, and a price to performance ratio that outclasses traditional solutions, ViFORCE™ offers one of the strongest returns on investment in its class.
Put simply: it ticks every box.

WIDEBAND Cardioid™ (WBC) is CODA’s next- generation approach to low-frequency directivity. Instead of cancelling sound at just one frequency — the limitation of traditional cardioid designs — WBC creates cancellation across a much wider bandwidth, delivering approximately 80–90% noise reduction (equivalent to –14 dB to –20 dB).
This makes the system dramatically quieter behind and beside the array, while keeping the energy focused exactly where it’s needed.
Here, we refer specifically to Sound Pressure Level (SPL).
Cardioid vs. Supercardioid vs. WIDEBAND Cardioid™
Traditional cardioid patterns cancel sound mainly behind the enclosure. Supercardioid patterns cancel sound mainly to the sides.
WIDEBAND Cardioid™ does both — simultaneously and across a much wider frequency range. It combines the strengths of both patterns, delivering:
• Outstanding rear rejection
• Excellent side rejection
• Consistent 80–90% wide -band noise reduction
• Superior control in the 110°–180° region
• A tighter, more focused, more predictable LF field

Pattern Control Comparison
Pattern Control Cardioid Supercardioid Wideband Cardioid
Rear rejection 140-180° Maximum at 180° Less rejection Maximum rejection
Side rejection 110-140° Less rejection Maximum at 125° Maximum rejection
Overall noise reduction Acceptable Good Excellent (80-90% reduction)
Application Front of Stage L / R from Stage All-purpose
In simple terms:
Cardioid cancels the rear.
Supercardioid cancels the sides.
WBC cancels both — across a much wider bandwidth.
In conventional cardioid systems, the cancellation bandwidth is determined by:
• Cabinet size
• Driver spacing
• Number of radiating areas
• Distance between those radiating areas
This means traditional cardioid designs typically achieve effective cancellation over only ~1.5 octaves. Larger cabinets perform better at low frequencies, but lose efficiency in the upper LF. Smaller cabinets do the opposite.
WIDEBAND Cardioid™ breaks this limitation.
By using multiple radiating areas placed at different distances, radiating almost 360° around the enclosure, WBC achieves:
• Up to ~3 octaves of effective cardioid control
• Consistent LF dispersion control without sacrificing upper LF
• Better directivity at low frequency even in smaller enclosures
Rear Rejection Comparison
Pattern
WBC delivers more bandwidth, more consistency, and more usable rejection than any conventional cardioid approach — regardless of cabinet size.

In SUB FORCE™ 35, WIDEBAND Cardioid™ operates through three longer, distinct ¼ λ path lengths, creating rear cancellation across the subwoofer’s entire 200 Hz to 24 Hz operating range. This wide -band behaviour is essential because the subwoofer works in two very different modes: as a flown LF extension for ViFORCE™ (35–200 Hz), or as a ground‑stacked subwoofer (24–75 Hz). In both cases, the cancellation remains stable, consistent, and effective across the full bandwidth.
Conventional cardioid subwoofers face a major limitation: they cannot be placed against a wall. The rear driver’s air pressure has nowhere to go, risking damage — so manufacturers simply mute the rear driver, wasting weight, output, and efficiency. SUB FORCE™ 35 solves this elegantly. Its side‑firing ports are not only one of the WBC cancellation paths, but also the output path for the rear driver when the enclosure is placed against a wall. Instead of losing energy, you gain it — the rear driver contributes fully, adding to the output of the front drivers while maintaining wide -band cardioid behaviour.
As with its ViFORCE™ partner, DS‑FIR processing ensures a flat, linear-phase response across the entire operating range. This makes time alignment effortless and delivers clean, impactful, deeply extended frequency reproduction in any deployment.
All the performance. All the flexibility. In every configuration

ViFORCE™ is a compact 4way cardioid line array system and the embodiment of CODA’s belief that great sound should never come with compromises. Every element has been re-engineered, re-imagined, and refined to deliver a system that feels impossibly powerful for its size, yet effortless to deploy and control.
At its heart is WIDEBAND Cardioid™, a patent applied for technology that overcomes the narrowband limitations of traditional cardioid designs. Instead of relying on a single ¼ λ spacing, WBC uses multiple effective ¼ λ distances, creating rear and side rejection across a far wider frequency range. The result is clean, controlled low frequency energy exactly where you want it — and dramatically less where you don’t.
ViFORCE™ also integrates CODA’s patented DDP for stunning clarity and projection, and patented DAC technology that eliminates power compression while enabling a dramatically smaller cabinet. The system behaves far bigger than it looks, without the usual thermal or mechanical compromises.
Horizontal coverage adapts instantly using Instafit magnetic couplers — no tools, no fuss, no swapping boxes. A quick release grille makes changes fast, clean, and intuitive. Brand new LF drivers built with a higher grade neodymium ensure the cardioid response stays perfectly consistent, even at extreme SPL.
ViFORCE™ is plug and play, with six cabinets fitting on a 60 × 60 cm dolly, ready to fly in seconds. Paired with the LINUS DSP platform, it offers two operating modes — Maximum Rejection or Maximum SPL — both supported by DSFIR processing for pristine linear phase accuracy.
And with a form factor identical to its slimline partner SUB FORCE™ 35, ViFORCE™ integrates seamlessly into a wide range of configurations using the same flying frame.
This is a system built for creators who refuse to compromise — compact, intelligent, and emotionally powerful.

SUB FORCE™ 35 is a slim, cardioid, sensor controlled 3 × 15” flyable subwoofer engineered to extend the ViFORCE™ system’s response all the way down to 24 Hz with power, precision, and absolute control. It’s built for modern productions that demand deep, musical low frequency energy without the usual compromises in size, weight, or placement.
At its core is WIDEBAND Cardioid™, a patent applied for technology that delivers wideband rear and side rejection far beyond the limits of traditional cardioid subs. Supporting this is a completely new generation of extremely high excursion LF drivers, designed from scratch with new voice coils and integrated sensors. These work in harmony with CODA’s patented DAC technology and sensor controlled architecture, eliminating power compression and ensuring the subwoofer remains tight, accurate, and consistent at any level.
SUB FORCE™ 35 is built for total deployment freedom. Its slimline form factor matches ViFORCE™ exactly, allowing it to be flown at the top, in the middle, or behind the array using the same hardware. Side firing ports enable unique placement options — including tight against walls or hard stages — without compromising performance or pattern control.
Beyond being a powerful cardioid subwoofer, SUB FORCE™ 35 also functions as a bass extension module, adding a level of punch and physicality to ViFORCE™ that feels almost unreal. The integrated 3point rigging allows selectable 0°, 3°, or 6° vertical splay, giving precise vertical directivity control and perfect time alignment within the array.
Designed to operate with the LINUS14 DSP and sensor control amplifier platform, SUB FORCE™ 35 benefits from DSFIR processing, delivering phase linear performance as part of a complete system solution
