Preliminary APS-Pro

APS-Pro

CODA Audio APS-Pro builds on the success of APS, while taking flexibility and maximum SPL to new heights. As vertical or horizontal arrays for small to medium venues, as single box systems, as fills for the stage or audience, or as DJ monitors, these adaptable loudspeakers will give superlative performance however you use them.

APS-PRO-D has a cabinet angle of 10°, ideal for longer throw applications and situations where you need the maximum granularity of control.

APS-PRO-S has a cabinet angle of 30°, ideal for near field, wide coverage, or single cabinet applications.

APS-Pro-S Features

C Dynamic Airflow Cooling (DAC) technology

C Power Handling: 1400 W (AES)

C Frequency Range: 50 Hz to 22 kHz

C 30° cabinet angle for short throw and wide near field coverage

C Unique 9” DDC (3.5” + 1.75” VC)

C Dual 10” neodymium ultra-low distortion cone drivers

C InstaFit APS-Couplers ensure a coherent uniform wavefront that performs as a single source and provides directivity control over a wide frequency range

C Up to three cabinets can be linked for amp channel economy

C Seamless integration with APS-Pro-D

C Part of an integrated system with LINUS DSP amplifiers

They both work with existing hardware from the APS Series, and can be run in threes from a single amplifier channel, making them very economical in amplifier channel count.

Both loudspeakers benefit from our tool-free Quick Release Grille and magnetic InstaFit APS-Couplers, allowing you to choose from symmetrical dispersion angles of 120°, 90°, or 60°, and asymmetrical 105°, 90°, or 75°. Each cabinet is supplied with one set of couplers at order - any extras you need can be ordered as accessories.

CODA Audio’s unique and revolutionary DNA, present across all our products, is of course here in these new systems.

APS-Pro has Dynamic Airflow Cooling technology (DAC) to give maximum power handling with minimum power compression for their dual 10” low frequency drivers, while the mid and high ranges are taken care of with new versions of our coaxial DDC driver, to provide the curved wavefronts suited to the 10° and 30° cabinet angles.

As our proprietary technologies are present across our loudspeaker ranges, users can take advantage of incredible flexibility and synergy across models, enabling systems to be deployed in a variety of formats and combinations to meet a client’s exact requirements.

Technology

DDC (Dual Diaphragm Curved Wave Driver) At the heart of the APS-Pro Series is a patented 8.75” and 9” Dual Diaphragm 10 degree or 30 degree Curved Wave Driver. The larger annular midrange diaphragm covers the frequency range 400 - 6500 Hz with a smooth, linear response. The extended diaphragm excursion of max. +/- 0.8 mm results in high output and increased power handling up to 1400 W peak. The ultra-light annular diaphragm for the high range offers exceptional transient response with very high efficiency from 6 to 22 kHz. This distinctive new transducer was engineered to radiate a true coherent curved wave front from a rectangular piston without internal diffraction for superior dispersion control and high-fidelity sound.

The patented design is a result of extensive, dedicated research and development providing dramatic improvement in dynamic response, clarity and transparency.

Dynamic Airflow Cooling (DAC) The patented DAC technology usesthermal induction by utilising a singlepiece aluminium construction, in turn preserving the sound. Putting an immense amount of power into a compact enclosure required a new enclosure design and a new thermal concept: the APS-Pro front baffle and vents are made from aluminium with all drivers mounted into it. These aluminium vents are optimised to maximise airflow, increasing the thermal capacity of the system. Applying more power increases the airflow in the vents, conducting more heat away from the drivers, and distributing that heat outside the enclosure. The DAC technology dramatically improves heat dissipation, doubling the power handling and the maximum SPL capability compared to a conventionally cooled system.

Vertical Dispersion APS-Pro D projects energy further with its narrower angle output resulting in higher SPL for the longer throw section of an array, when used with narrow angle couplers.

APS-Pro S has wider coverage, so slightly less SPL, especially when wide angle couplers are used.

An array is naturally level shaded without having to use multiple amplifier channels.

Quick Release Grille No Tools Required

InstaFit Magnetic Couplers CODA solve the problem of properly summing the output of all drive units into a single, pattern controlled wavefront by the use of interchangeable Couplers. Loudspeakers using this technology have exceptional pattern control and consistent off-axis response, impossible to achieve with traditional driver layouts.

With Couplers, the output of all the drivers perform as a single source, while maintaining a perfectly uniform phase response regardless of which coverage pattern you use.

In APS-Pro, changes between wide, narrow or asymmetric coverage are achieved easily with Quick Release Grilles and InstaFit magnetic couplers. You can order APS-Pro with one dispersion suited to your installation, or order extra Couplers to allow flexibility for touring applications.
