Don’t get mad if you ride something other than a Harley, as I am just trying to make a point. For a few months I have said that national magazines are dying off because they don’t have an attitude anymore. It’s like they all became politically correct or something. Maybe WalMart made them that way, as I know 1st hand that you have to meet certain guidelines to get your product in there, and one of those is being PC. Easyriders Magazine became a hit in the ‘70’s all the way up until the early 2000’s BECAUSE they had attitude and didn’t give a rip, whether people or businesses liked them or not. Of course they seemed to change as did all the Harley dealers, and their edge was pushed aside, so as to cater to the credit card crowd. Old school biker attitude is missing in magazines today!!! Many think it’s just about titties, but it was deeper than that. It was a shock deal to keep the squares and those plastic people away, amen!!! By the way, remember them selling swastica patches? HaHaHa, can you imagine that today? I reckon Outlaw Biker still has shock value, but................the rest seem to have lost it. **********

After this past year, I don’t even know what to write about anymore. What a mess 2020 was. I know that the older we get the more family and friends we will lose to death, but good grief, this last year seemed to rob all of us of so many special people. How about this, let’s just keep each other in our thoughts and prayers, remembering those who are grieving from deaths of loved ones, and for a better 2021. Someone said, “It can’t get any worse”, yes it can, but we don’t want anymore. As of right now, the election of president still isn’t solved. I think the thing that bothers the majority of true blue Americans is how the election was held. I mean, if you’re going to cheat, don’t make it look so obvious. The Democrats DID cheat, and they aren’t denying it, why, because they want it to go away, like all the other scandals in DC. That is status Quo in Washington, on both sides, just sweep it under the rug and let’s move on. What a disgrace to our country. If we don’t get term limits, we won’t last another 10 years. Trump, who never was a Republican, rather he is a Patriot, is the ONLY one on that side that has any balls, the only one. And in DC, he stands alone, but there is a majority of Americans, who voted him in BOTH TIMES, that stand with him and against the SWAMP. I pray he starts his own party, and reforms American politics!!! By the way, there is no such office as president elect. HaHaHa. People, TRUMP IS STILL THE PRESIDENT, period! Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and you got what you wanted, as for me, just having descent health, food, clothing and a bed with a roof over my head is sufficient. Anything beyond that is a super blessing. Anyway, may your new year be bright and joyful and may you prosper in all you do, and I wish good health on you all. ~ Cochise

I did not get the whole scoop on this beautiful Ironhead Chopper built by my old friend Billy Flash, but I must say, “WOW”!!! You have to really go over this master piece to be able to catch all the cool details that are graphed into this bike. I wish I had of asked who did what, like the paint, etc. but I forgot. Here is another one of Daytona Beach’s Real Biker Icons!!! Everyone knows him simply as Marcus! He’s been around here since the 80’s, working at the Boot Hill Saloon, then for a long time at one of his Best Friend’s, Willie the owner of Tropical Tattoos, shop. Everyone loves Marcus, why? From what I can tell, it is because every time you see him, whether on the job, at home or out on the highway riding Choppers, he is always the same, and treats every person the same, and that is with respect. Hell, he is just a nice guy!

Hell Ride is a 2008 American action/neooutlaw biker film written and directed by Larry Bishop and starring Bishop, Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, Eric Balfour, Vinnie Jones, Leonor Varela and David Carradine. It was released under the “Quentin Tarantino Presents” banner. The film is an homage to the original outlaw biker films of the 1960s and 1970s. Biker Pistolero (Larry Bishop) is the leader, or “Prez,” of the Victors, a Southern California motorcycle gang. He has two faithful lieutenants, The Gent (Michael Madsen) and the young Comanche (Eric Balfour). In 1976, Cherokee Kisum (Julia Jones), the girlfriend of Pistolero (then known as Johnny) is viciously murdered by The Deuce (David Carradine) and Billy Wings (Vinnie Jones), leaders of the arch-rival gang the Six-Six-Six’ers, as a message to the Victors. The Deuce later moves into large scale business efforts, leaving the biker life behind and the Sixers dry up as a gang. Cherokee has also hidden away a small fortune from under-the-table drug deals she made behind the Deuce’s back - another reason behind her murder. The stash of Chops 28
money is intended for her young son, who disappears after her death. Years later, after The Deuce returns to the area to close up unfinished business and Billy Wings reforms the Sixers in Los Angeles, the rival gang infiltrates the Victors in an attempt to take over their territory. One member from 1976, St. Louie, is murdered in the same manner as Cherokee Kisum. Bob the Bum, the Victors’ treasurer, is similarly killed. Pistolero then begins to make moves to eliminate the Sixers and finally gain his revenge. While loyal bikers are killed by the Sixers, the more treacherous and less faithful Victors try to influence The Gent, Comanche, and Goody Two-Shoes to switch sides - or kill them. Goody Two-Shoes is eventually killed after being located and chased down by Billy Wings. With the aid of his beautiful & mysterious “medicine woman” Nada (Leonor Varela) and his old friend and ally Eddie Zero (Dennis Hopper), Pistolero and the remaining Victors try to locate and kill The Deuce, Billy Wings and the Sixers before they themselves are killed. Larry Bishop’s character Pistolero is named after the original title for Robert Rodriguez’s Desperado. The dialogue spoken by the character Nada (Leonor Varela) is made up almost entirely of double entendres and clichés. Bishop took extra duties on this film by not only starring in it, but also writing, directing and co-producing with producers Michael Steinberg and Shana Stein, and executive producer Quentin Tarantino. This film is Bishop’s modern-day take on those 1960s motorcycle flicks he used to turn out for B-movie masters American International Pictures. It is the project Tarantino inspired Bishop to begin some five and a half years ago, when he told Bishop: “It is your destiny to write, direct and star in a movie”. Tarantino also assured Bishop that he would help to produce his film. Hell Ride premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. It had a brief theatrical run via Third Rail Releasing before being released to DVD worldwide. (I personally think it’s the best thing Tarantino has put out since “Pulp Fiction”! Even though some B Grade Movie privileges were taken in this movie, it was still pretty good. Lee “Chino” Marvin “I love you, Johnny. I’ve been looking in every ditch from Fresno to here hoping you was dead.” ~ Chino trying to intimidate Johnny. Chino is the main antagonist of the 1953 crime film The Wild One. He is the violent, thuggish leader of a motorcycle gang who starts a turf war with The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, led by protagonist Johnny Strabler. He is portrayed by the late Lee Marvin, who also portrayed Liberty Valance in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Lee Marvin (February 19, 1924 – August 29, 1987) was an American film and television actor. Known for his distinctive voice and premature white hair, Marvin initially appeared in supporting roles, mostly villains, soldiers, and other hardboiled characters. Marvin is best remembered for his lead roles as “tough guy” characters such as Chino i the The Wild Ones (1953), Charlie Strom in The Killers (1964), Rico Fardan in The Professionals (1966), Major John Reisman in The Dirty Dozen, Walker in Point Blank (both 1967), and the Sergeant in The Big Red One (1980). One of Marvin’s more notable movie projects was Cat Ballou (1965), a comedy Western in which he played dual roles. 1977 late February I went into Pittsburgh Harley-Davidson on the Northside. I bought this 1977 lowrider off the showroom floor from Lou bacon the manager. I paid total $2,200 out the door. Hour later I drove it away it was cold as shit in Pittsburgh. That week I put a backrest on it and took off that Chrome Cannon they had on there for a muffler. Put a set of drag pipes on it so you can hear the Shovelhead. Later that week I got my sleeping bag and my clothes and headed to Bike Week Daytona 1977. At that time the only way down here was the Turnpike to Interstate 95. It started snowing in DC all the way to Ridgeland South Carolina. The roads are so bad you had a ride in the middle and it was so cold that all the snot was frozen on your beard. I would stop every so often put my gloves on the exhaust pipes to let them get warm and soften up. Next morning when I got up in Ridgeland the electric start would not turn the bike over. So I had to use the kick-start on a 10 degree day. It was like trying to kick through a bucket of molasses. Couldn’t push start it the parking lot was ice and snow. About an hour later got it running headed to Daytona. I broke the bike in on the way down here with the idea of ride it like you stole it. It had a warranty so I torture that bike all the way down while I was here and then back home. Had a warranty but never had to use it. It ran perfect. And the ride home was cold but no snow. Paul and I on a Cross Country Motorcycle trip in 1975. Shovelheads, 4 Speed, foot clutch, jockey shift, Kickstart only motorcycles. That was a rough way to ride back then. But at least they were swingarm frames. No motels , sleeping bags in a rest stop. Rest stop bathrooms for cleanup. Would go from t-shirts to leathers. Back in the early 70s in McKees Rocks Me, Paul (AKA Thief) , and Dougie ( AKA Moses) opened the motorcycle shop up called The McKees Rocks Motorcycle shop. We did Harley-Davidson work. It was a huge Place big showroom all glass front right on the main drag. If you notice the business card at the time there was no zip codes on your address and no area codes on your phone number. At that time McKees Rocks had a lot of bikers in that town. So after a while it became more of a hang out place than a motorcycle shop. We weren’t one of the most welcome neighbors there. So in due time we figured out that one of the best things to do was to close the shop. Live and learn. As of today just me and Paul are still around. Moses died a lot years back. ~ Domenick Greco

In a Hollywood career spanning more than 75 years, he has appeared in almost three hundred feature films and television productions, with his best known role being the menacing Anthony Falconetti ( FALCON EDDIE, and this was one of, if not the best fight scene ever, as Smith fought Nick Nolte) in the 1970s television mini-series Rich Man, Poor Man. Smith is also known for films like Any Which Way You Can (1980), Conan The Barbarian (1982), Rumble Fish (1983), and Red Dawn (1984), as well as lead roles in several exploitation films during the 1970s, BUT we all remember him in the Biker Movies from the 70’s!!! Born in Columbia, Missouri, Smith began his acting career at the age of eight in 1942; he entered films as a child actor in such films as The Ghost of Frankenstein, The Song of Bernadette and Meet Me in St. Louis. Smith served in the United States Air Force. He won the 200 pound (91 kg) arm-wrestling championship of the world multiple times and also won the United States Air Force weightlifting championship. A lifelong bodybuilder, Smith is a record holder for reverse-curling his own body weight. His trademark arms measured as much as 19½ inches. Smith held a 31-1 record as an amateur boxer.[citation needed] During the Korean War he was a Russian Intercept Interrogator and flew secret ferret missions over the Russian SFSR. He had both CIA and NSA clearance and intended to enter a classified position with the U.S. government, but while he was working on his doctorate studies he landed an acting contract with MGM. On the big screen, Smith became the star of several cult movies from the early seventies. Smith appeared as heavy Terry Bartell in Darker than Amber in 1970. Also that year, Smith was also featured in two biker flicks Nam’s Angels (originally released under the title “The Losers”) co-starring Bernie Hamilton and C.C. and Company with AnnMargret, Joe Namath, Jennifer Billingsley and genre favorite Sid Haig, the latter of which was directed by Seymour Robbie and written by Ann-Margret’s husband, actor Roger Smith. In 1972 and 1975, respectively, he appeared in two popular Blaxploitation films, Hammer and the controversially titled Boss Nigger, both with Fred Williamson. He was a regular on the 1961 ABC television series The Asphalt Jungle, portraying police Sergeant Danny Keller. One of his earliest leading roles was as Joe Riley, a Texas Ranger on the NBC western series Laredo (1965–1967). In 1967, Smith guest starred as Jude Bonner on James Arness’s long-lived western Gunsmoke. Smith was cast as John Richard Parker, brother of Cynthia Ann Parker, both taken hostage in Texas by the Comanche, in the 1969 episode “The Understanding” of the syndicated television series Death Valley Days, which was hosted by Robert Taylor. In the story line, Parker contracts the plague, is left for dead by his fellow Comanche warriors, and is rescued by his future Mexican wife, Yolanda (Emily Banks). He played the outlaw turned temporary sheriff Hendry Brown in the 1969 episode “The Restless Man”. In that story line, Brown takes the job of sheriff to tame a lawless town, begins to court a young woman (again played by Emily Banks), but soon returns to his deadly outlaw ways in search of bigger thrills. On Gunsmoke, Smith appeared in a 1972 episode, “Hostage!”; his character beats and rapes Amanda Blake’s character Miss Kitty Russell and shoots her twice in the back. Smith has been described as the “greatest bad-guy character actor of our time. William Smith was and is the man that many men tried to imitate, when it came to physique, toughness and suave back in the day. Easy Rider
Easy Rider is a 1969 American independent road drama film written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern, produced by Fonda, and directed by Hopper. Fonda and Hopper play two bikers who travel through the American Southwest and South, carrying the proceeds from a cocaine deal. The success of Easy Rider helped spark the New Hollywood era of filmmaking during the early 1970s. A landmark counterculture film, and a “touchstone for a generation” that “captured the national imagination,” Easy Rider explores the societal landscape, issues, and tensions in the United States during the 1960s, such as the rise of the hippie movement, drug use, and communal lifestyle. Real drugs were used in scenes showing the use of marijuana and other substances. Easy Rider was released by Columbia Pictures on July 14, 1969, grossing $60 million worldwide from a filming budget of no more than $400,000. Critics have praised the performances, directing, writing, soundtrack, and visuals. Hopper, Fonda and Southern were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay later on. Easy Rider was added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 1998. Plot Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) are freewheeling motorcyclists. After smuggling cocaine from Mexico to Los Angeles, they sell their haul and receive a large sum of money. With the cash stuffed into a plastic tube hidden inside the Stars & Stripes-painted fuel tank of Wyatt’s California-style chopper, they ride eastward aiming to reach New Orleans, Louisiana, in time for the Mardi Gras festival. During their trip, Wyatt and Billy stop to repair a flat tire on Wyatt’s bike at a farmstead in Arizona and have a meal with the farmer and his family. Later, Wyatt picks up a hippie hitch-hiker, and he invites them to visit his commune, where they stay for the rest of the day. The notion of “free love” appears to be practiced, with two of the women, Lisa and Sarah, seemingly sharing the affections of the hitch-hiking commune member before turning their attention to Wyatt and Billy. As the bikers leave, the hitch-hiker gives Wyatt some LSD for him to share with “the right people”. Chops 50 50 Chops
Later, while riding along with a parade in New Mexico, the pair are arrested for “parading without a permit” and thrown in jail. There, they befriend lawyer George Hanson (Jack Nicholson), who has spent the night in jail after overindulging in alcohol. After the mention of having done work for the ACLU along with other conversation, George helps them get out of jail and decides to travel with Wyatt and Billy to New Orleans. As they camp that night, Wyatt and Billy introduce George to marijuana. As an alcoholic and a “square”, George is reluctant to try it due to his fear of becoming “hooked” and it leading to worse drugs but quickly relents. Stopping to eat at a small-town Louisiana diner, the trio attracts the attention of the locals. The girls in the restaurant think they are exciting, but the local men and a police officer make denigrating comments and taunts. Wyatt, Billy, and George decide to leave without any fuss. They make camp outside town. In the middle of the night, a group of locals attack the sleeping trio, beating them with clubs. Billy screams and brandishes a knife, and the attackers leave. Wyatt and Billy suffer minor injuries, but George has been bludgeoned to death. Wyatt and Billy wrap George’s body in his sleeping bag, gather his belongings, and vow to return the items to his family. They continue to New Orleans and find a brothel George had told them about. Taking prostitutes Karen (Karen Black) and Mary (Toni Basil) with them, Wyatt and Billy wander the parade-filled streets of the Mardi Gras celebration. They end up in a French Quarter cemetery, where all four ingest the LSD the hitch-hiker had given to Wyatt and experience a bad trip. The next morning, as they are overtaken on a two-lane country road by two local men in an older pickup truck, the passenger in the truck reaches for a shotgun, saying he will scare them. As they pass Billy, the passenger fires, and Billy has a lowside crash. The truck passes Wyatt who has stopped, and Wyatt rides back to Billy, finding him lying flat on the side of the road and covered in blood. Wyatt tells Billy he’s going to get help and covers Billy’s wound with his own leather jacket. Wyatt then rides down the road toward the pickup as it makes a U-turn. Passing in the opposite direction, the passenger fires the shotgun again, this time through the driver’s-side window. Wyatt’s riderless motorcycle flies through the air and comes apart before landing and becoming engulfed in flames. Chops 51
