The cover is of the Joker, why? Because you don’t need to act like him while visiting here for Bike Week. Locals here are NOT on vacation and have to go to work, so don’t be a joker and slow them down by lollygagging around. Have fun, be safe & respectful to our area & people!!! ************************************ Are you aware that your words hold great power? Even when you’re joking or having fun, if you are a popular person, some people will believe everything you say. They say the strongest muscle in our bodies is our tongue & I believe it as well as experienced it. An example: Just in passing someone has said something (that they thought was funny) that has caused others to change their way of thinking about another one. Be careful what you say around your admirers, cause your words, whether kidding or not, are Golden to them, and they believe you! ********************************************************* You know what ticks me off? (Besides Everything), is LOCAL Businesses NOT Supporting other LOCAL Businesses during Bike Week. Some of these people will pay a Big Shot in the industry thousands of dollars to show up at their place, and I’m not talking about music people, but bike folks, YET they won’t help someone like me out, with a $100 ad. Oh, by the way, we live in the Mecca of Harley Davidsons right here, but these men & women won’t take advantage of our Local talent, etc. People don’t come here to see your headliners, they come to see people that live here, figure it out & save some money! ********************************************************* I’ll be set up at Willie’s Tropical Tattoo‘s Chopper Time on March 9th, if you want to drop by and say hey. We’ll have some shirts there as well as a few poster/calendars. Trailer Trash will be set up with me Boot Hill Saloon on Main St. is celebrating their 50th Anniversary!!! And Walden’s Bar on Beach St., will be having their 75th year in business!

God’s Corner Mark 8 King James Version 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Spiritually, it’s saying you can have everything in this world, but what about after your death? Where will you spend eternity? Heaven, you say! What makes you think you’re going to Heaven? According to the Bible, Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. Just think about that. Physically, it means you can put so much time in getting more & more temporary stuff, that you forget the most important things, like your mate, your children. Your pockets are full of money, but your soul is empty. Thank about this also. ~ Cochise

A Few Things I’ve Learned In Life And Still Learning. 1) No matter what, certain people truly do not like you. They never have. Their fakeness always shines through. They haven’t liked you from day one and love to find fault with you and go talk about you to others, in a “Kidding” way, of course. You don’t know why they don’t care for you and perhaps they don’t either. It could be your looks, the way you talk and walk, what you believe in or that you’re just enjoying life! 2) If a “friend” talks to you about others behind their backs, you can be assured they are doing you the same way. Of course when called out, they’re just “joking”. 3) Never ever become more popular than the big cheese, especially if they started the club, event or it’s their party/idea, for in time you will be turned on and ostracized. 4) They say love never fails, but some just won’t/can’t accept it. Because they have hidden agendas so they think you do also. 5) There are mean people all around you. 6) Love harder those who you know really loves you, (my family & a couple of friends). 7) Support your supporters! You know who they are. 8) Never brag on yourself or accomplishments, as that enrages your secret haters and they’ll do everything they can to belittle you, especially around someone else that doesn’t like you either. Let others brag on you. Real friends will. 9) Be true to yourself, always, no matter how bad others dislike it. 10). If these continue on with their hate, whether secretly or openly, expel them from your life. Don’t pay any attention to them. Focus on those few who truly care for you and support them till the wheels fall off!!! ~ Cochise

Who started Bike Week in Daytona? The Daytona Beach Bike Week rally started as the Daytona 200 race on January 24, 1937. This first race was a 3.2 miles (5.1 km) beach and pavement course. It was won by Ed Kretz from California riding an Indian motorcycle with an average speed of 73.34 mph (118.03 km/h). What is the point of Bike Week? It is typically an entire week of cycling events that cover a variety of different types of cycling. The central aim of the event is to create awareness of the benefits of cycling and give those who don’t currently cycle the opportunity to help the environment and exercise in a fun and social way. How many motorcycles are stolen during Daytona Bike Week? About 100 motorcycles valued at $1 million were stolen during the 10-day event, police said. Most were Harley-Davidsons. “We don’t believe there was any organized theft ring,” Daytona Beach police spokesman Al Tolley said. Mar 17, 1994 How much money does bike week bring to Daytona? Mid-Florida Marketing & Research found the annual 10-day motorcycle event generated $74.8 million in Volusia County last year. That exceeds the estimated $40.34 million spent by race fans during the four days leading up to and including last year’s Daytona 500. Which is bigger Daytona Bike Week or Sturgis? Fact: Daytona is the biggest in the world, drawing 500,000 to 600,000 motorcycle aficionados for a 10-day street party each year, Feb 28, 2002. Who has the oldest Bike Week? And New Hampshire had it all! 1916 began the story of Laconia Motorcycle Week – the World’s Oldest Motorcycle Rally and the legacy continues! Chops 12

What is the history of Daytona? The original city, Daytona, was founded by Mathias Day of Ohio in 1870 and named for him. Day built a hotel there in 1874, and the area developed as a winter vacation spot for Northerners. In 1926 the cities of Seabreeze, Daytona, and Daytona Beach were consolidated as Daytona Beach. Who made Daytona famous? All variants include “Daytona” printed on dial. Produced for one year only. The Rolex Daytona was inspired by racecar drivers and enthusiasts, most notably, iconic actor Paul Newman, who reportedly wore his Daytona every day after he was gifted one by his wife. What does a two finger wave mean to bikers? The two-finger salute is actually a peace sign. That’s how we motorcyclists wave to say thank you for making room for us to split lanes. Feb 22, 2013 What does 86 mean to bikers? According to the online Merriam-Webster dictionary, it means to “refuse to serve (a customer)”, to “get rid of” or “throw out” someone or something. What do bikers call their motorcycles? Bike: An acceptable term for almost any motorcycle , which is also often called a ride, sled, beast, the old lady, sweetheart, my precious, That Broken Down Old Piece of … and so on. Dec 28, 2022 What do you call a biker’s girlfriend? Old Lady. This is a term of endearment for a biker’s girlfriend or wife. If a biker refers to his lady as such, you’ll know to keep your paws off. These were taken from the internet, NOT necessarily my thoughts! Chops 13

What a great day of food, fun & fellowship at Sorry Charlie’s Corner on Saturday the 11th, as hundreds came together to support the Veteran’s Support Group, with a FREE concert with Whey Jennings, the grandson of Waylon. This was the biggest event I’ve seen in this area (outside of Bike Week) since I have lived here. I’m talking about several hundred people just kept rolling in. Big thanks to Charlie (the owner) and his crew, Plus organizer Lisa Hinton, Willie from Tropical Tattoo for providing the SECURITY shirts/men and buying them all food there. The security guys (you guys had your hands full on parking bikes and others for sure), Mr. Humphries for parking other vehicles. The beautiful barmaids inside & out of the bar, the ones selling tickets for donations, A1 Guns & others for donations, all the vendors, Big Bob’s Ventures & a BIG thank you to all who made monetary donations to the Veterans!!!

Another Daytona Icon

I’ve known this local Icon for about as long as I have known anyone here. Tito, had been around for years, as an ace mechanic, as head of security at Chopper Time and of course, he rides his old Shovelhead everywhere. No matter the weather or distance, Tito has always been there. His Shovelhead has been to the Smoke Out in North Carolina more than a few times.

Not only does he ride, but he’s just a good person. He has always had his friend’s backs to the end. We who know him are glad he was replanted here from NY. Tito is a welcomed biker to all of us who ride! ~ Cochise

Who Is/Was The Greatest Guitar Player Ever? (Just Hodge Podge) Yes, we know that there are many lists that seek to select the best guitarists in the world. However, every instrument enthusiast has their favourites and it is impossible to please them all. But, one thing we can do, is offer good arguments that clarify the selection criteria for the reader. Also, the guitar is a very popular musical instrument in a myriad of musical genres, and mixing them all into one category is not a very smart thing to do. That is why we have selected the best jazz, blues and rock guitarists in history, and we will leave the musicians of other genres for another time. Shall we begin? The best guitarists in history: Jimi Hendrix -Eric Clapton -Jeff Beck -Chuck Berry Stevie Ray Vaughan -Joe Satriani -Steve Vai -Yngwie Malmsteen Eddie Van Halen -Allan Holdsworth (Where is Jimmy Page & Prince, [who was a musical genius]?) Who is the greatest guitar player of all time and why? More than just one of the greatest guitar players of all time, Jimi Hendrix is often considered the very best. His use of distortion and feedback was pioneering, and his style was unlike anything that came before. Who did Jimi Hendrix think was the best guitarist? He’d answer “Billy Gibbons”! Who did Eric Clapton think was the best guitarist? He says Prince! How good was Stevie Ray Vaughan? Although his mainstream career spanned only seven years, he is regarded as one of the most influential musicians in the history of blues music, and one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

What did Eddie Van Halen say about Jimi Hendrix?

just a bit ‘sloppy’.

Sounds ridiculous but apparently Eddie Van Halen thought Jimi Hendrix was ‘sloppy’ Don’t shoot the messenger here but a Whitesnake guitarist says Eddie Van Halen once told him that Jimi Hendrix was

What did Eric Clapton think of George Harrison? “He was just a magical guy, and he would show up, get out of the car with his guitar, and come in and start playing,” Clapton said in an interview for the Martin Scorsese documentary George Harrison: Living in the Material World. “I just watched this thing come to life”! Did Hendrix ever jam with Clapton? There, only a week after his arrival, Hendrix made history by jamming at Regent Street Polytechnic in Central London with Cream and their already-renowned guitarist Eric Clapton. Why did Jimi Hendrix dislike Led Zeppelin? “Jimi Hendrix personally told me that he didn’t like Zeppelin because they were like excess baggage and that they stole from everybody,” he explained. “‘You Shook Me’ was on Jeff Beck’s record. ‘Dazed and Confused’ has a bit of Vanilla Fudge on it and it has parts of ‘Beck’s Bolero’ in it. What did Eric Clapton think of Led Zeppelin? “They were very loud,” Clapton is quoted as saying in Ritchie Yorke’s Led Zeppelin: The Definitive Biography. “I thought it was unnecessarily loud. I liked some of it; I really did like some of it. But a lot of it was just too much. What did John Lennon think of Led Zeppelin? “I like heavy mu-

sic — I call it rock. I like Led Zeppelin.” Later adding: “I don’t really know much of what they’re about. But one thing’s for sure, Jimmy Page is a bloody good guitarist.” Who was a better guitar player Eddie Van Halen or Jimi Hendrix? They asked classic rock fans for their opinion. Who is the better guitarist — Jimi Hendrix or Eddie Van Halen? Unfortunately, the poll was already closed when we discovered it. Van Halen won the poll, with 61% of the votes. What about these folks: REO Speedwagon’s Gary Richrath Guns & Roses’ Slash BTO & The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman Heavy Metal Randy Rhoads Country Star Chet Adkins The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards Pink Floyds’ Gary Gilmour Queens’ Brian May B.B. King Hearts’ Nancy Wilson Frank Zappa. Sister Rosetta Tharpe The Who’s Pete Townshend Metallica’s James Hetfield AC/DC Angus Young Joe Pass Is Joe Pass the best guitarist? Not only does Joe stand as one of the world’s greatest guitarists of all time, he is also one of the greatest educators. His legacy lives on through the knowledge and skills he so generously shared with students around the world. My selection is and always will be the men who played in Lynyrd Skynyrd; Gary Rossington - Steve Gaines -Allen Collins -Ed King & Rickey Medlocke when playing FREE BIRD, none better at that time. Just country boys playing from the heart, except Ed was from Cally, but he was just as good. I know I missed many more, who’s yours? Chops 44
