cochisechops@yahoo.com or (386) 690-6270 If you haven’t heard yet, I’ve got some BIG NEWS, I’m going to be a GREAT Grand Poppa in July!!! A little boy will coming along to help level out the playing field of the grandchildren, were we have 21 but out of those 21, only 6 are males! May be the starting of a third generation, starting with me, we will have some more baby boys. Don’t get me wrong, we love them ALL the same, with me being probably closer to a few grand daughters, only because they stay in communication with me, unlike the boys. Anyway, YEA for B & Me!!! A GREAT GRAND POPPA & GREAT GRANDMOTHER!!! This year (2023) will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Famous Boot Hill Saloon, 50 Years!!! Keep your eyes peeled here for more info. How many of you remember your first time walking into this iconic bar? I do and I must say, it was very intimidating! People, including the bar tenders (all male at that time) seemed to be staring a hole right through me. I was use to it, as a good friend once told me, “Brother, you just have that look were people either love you immediately or they want to fight you!” Of course (and listen I am not nor ever been a bad azz), but in 1979 or 80, I can’t remember, I didn’t give a flip one way or another. Thankfully I was accepted there, just like I have been over the last 20 years I’ve lived here & the last 30 that I’ve been coming here regularly. I’ve never liked fighting, but “It Is What It Is”! Thank God I don’t have that look anymore, or I don’t think I do, and I’m glad as I still have a problem with following Jesus’ lead and “Turning The Other Cheek”! Anyways, get your ride ready for Bike Week, & I’ll see you at Chopper Time & Sons Of Speed Races! Big Love, Cochise

God’s Corner What is the spiritual definition of hope? When people speak about hope in a spiritual context, it might mean believing good things will happen with faith in a higher power. They might direct their hopes outward in prayer. For others, it might mean always looking on the bright side and seeing challenges as opportunities. What is the Hebrew meaning of hope? Expectation: The word for hope in Hebrew (Tikvah), however, is more concrete. In Hebrew, the word means expectation! Why is hope important to God? Hope is the eyes of faith in that it not only sees the promise, but it is also the hands of faith that clings to the expectation of the promise and never releases it no matter what is seen. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). What are the kinds of hope in the Bible? 7 Examples of Hope in the Bible For When Believing Gets Hard Hope believes anyway. Hope resists resentment. Hope has friends. Hope expects God to answer. Hope doesn’t stop believing. Hope is louder than the crowd. Hope hears God. For me personally, I have HOPE that when I die I’ll see my loved ones who went on before me. I truly believe in this. An atheist has no hope to ever see anyone after death, sad!!!

-DRUNK WITH POWER (Continued From Last Month’s Issue) It reminds me of the story of the nerdy kid on the playground that gets bullied until he comes back from summer vacation a foot taller and 30 pounds heavier. He spent the entire previous school year getting bullied every single day on the playground. You would think that if anyone in the world would have empathy and would never ever pick on anyone in the world because he knows first hand the pain it causes…it would be him, But he goes on summer vacation and grows a whole foot taller and puts on some serious weight and muscle. Then he comes back to school and you would THINK he would become the defender of the weaker kids. You would think he would use his new size and strength to put a stop to bullying on the playground once and for all…. But instead he becomes drunk with power and starts bullying people left and right….He turns into the very thing that once made him cry himself to sleep at night and dread having to go to school the next day….The tormented becomes the tormentor. A life of true hypocrisy.. The SAME hypocrisy that ANY club that is out there trying to control other clubs against their will are committing… ESPECIALLY those clubs that have already gone through that fight themselves. If your club’s history involves some big club telling your club’s founders that they weren’t allowed to wear certain patches and that they weren’t allowed to ride as brothers in a certain area, And your club’s founders stood up against the rising of the tide and fought hard for your right to wear the patch you wear today. And every time you enter your clubhouse you see the wall of photos of the brothers that lost their lives in that struggle for freedom. Then why on God’s green earth would you turn around and participate in a system of control that will ultimately turn your club into the SAME bully that your club’s founders overcame all those years ago? How on earth can you allow your club to become the very thing it’s supposed to hate most? As clubs.. As a culture.. Go To Page 14 Chops 10
So, they were young and in their first love affair. She was a typist and learning the new skill of Keypunch Operator. He was working on a stock farm and learning his cows from steers. His sheep from goats, and where bacon came from. They lived in a boring border town, that had a post office, a couple of gas stations, an IGA, a pool hall and bar. But they found each other there which was a miracle. He saved up some money, and south of the border, he bought a car. And what a car it was! A 58 Mercury 4 door hardtop, Turnpike Cruiser. Black and turquoise, it had the Mexican treatment of a full roll an tuck interior even the headliner in black and white. Big block V8 4bbl. And the Cruiseomatic push button transmission. It had the big 9 tube AM radio with Reverb and duel rear seat speakers. When he pulled up to her parents house in it her Dad told her to get off the porch and go inside. But she didn’t, instead she ran to the curb and hopped into the shotgun seat and he roared off with the slight squeek of rubber and rich exhaust. On down the road they drove at a fast speed, the radio blasting rock an roll, with all the windows down, their hair blew back, flagging all the excitement, true love, and passion they felt. Neither ever looked back.

We can’t just keep repeating this negative cycle every time a club grows big enough to get drunk on power. We have GOT to recognize this negative cycle for what it is and put a stop to it once and for all. Bro…if you spend your days running down on new clubs playing patch patrol because it makes you feel big and bad, You might as well throw a blue siren on your bike and trade in your patch for a police badge. We’re better than that. I promise you there is a better way. And listen… Don’t ever think I don’t understand the appeal of power trippin’ because I do. Your club was forged in the crucible of war. Every detail of your club’s existence has become adapted to war. Your club and it’s protocol became a well oiled war machine. Then.. one day.. you have a big event in your home town…and you and your brothers look around at each other and realize the power that you have at your fingertips…You look around and see hundreds of your patch...You look around and see that each brother is more impressive than the next…And you say to yourselves, “This city is ours!” But you wanna know something? The TRUE 1%er doesn’t need to announce or enforce ownership… The true 1%er respects freedom and has enough pride and faith in his own club to know that in the eyes of everyone in the culture.. his club has made their mark on the town from which they hail...There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having hometown pride...There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your club carving out it’s own slice of Heaven in a certain city or county or state. It becomes wrong when you start declaring that the whole town or county or state belongs to you and that every other club in the world must bow down to you and obey your command when it comes to that town or county or state. Because it is at that point that you have become the very thing that we as a culture are supposed to be against...That 1%er patch on your vest is NOT a rank or an “I’m the boss” patch...The 1%er patch is a mark of kindred spirits. The 1%er patch is a mark that shows all other 1%er’s at a glance that you live by the same code of .....Page 16 Chops 14

FREEDOM AND BROTHERHOOD that they live by. A code that society and groups like the AMA could never understand. So please…don’t bring shame onto that patch by going against everything it stands for. Don’t allow your club to get drunk on power and become the very thing it once rebelled against, Live as true 1%er’s. Give what you get. Take none, give none. Carve out your little slice of Heaven by setting your club up with a righteous clubhouse and asking that other clubs respect that clubhouse’s personal space…(a few block radius), And outside of that space…show other clubs the same respect that you ask of them.. And other than that… Live Free and Let Live Free! The cycle MUST end! From the clubs that stood up against the tyranny of society and the AMA to the clubs that stood up against other clubs that were power trippin’ … It’s time that we ALL start doing what’s necessary to stop the negative cycle and start showing the world how true 1%er’s get down. Give What You Get! Take None Give None! Long Live The Spirit of The True 1%er!! Thank you for reading. ML&R Always Miklo 1%er Los Perros MC

“Rogue” - Biker’s Lives Matter! He was originally from Bridgeport, Conn. Rogue, was a president of the Huns Motorcycle Club in Bridgeport, Ct For ten years Rogue rode with the Huns out of Bridgeport and spent his last four years with the club as the International President. When his good friend Donald “Pappy” Pittsley died in 1975, he resigned from the club. He had to retire from the Huns when his activities with the Connecticut Motorcycle Association, the Connecticut Motorcycle Rights Association (which he founded), and ABATE of Connecticut (which he also founded) started to take up too much of his time. Rogue was responsible for getting that state’s mandated helmet law repealed. It is his work with these associations that brought him into the national limelight back in 1975, when he and some of his co-workers convinced Congressman Stewart McKinney to introduce a bill into the Senate that would eventually overturn the National Mandatory Helmet Regulation. In the late ‘70s, he moved to Melbourne and opened a motorcycle shop & Earning a good reputation as a motorcycle mechanic and custom bike builder. ‘Rogue motorcycle and event photography”, He started submitting photos to motorcycle publications in the ‘60s and is still doing so today. Worked mostly for Paisano Publications (Eastrider’s- Biker-In the Wind, etc.) Lou Kimzey and “Eastrider’s” editor Keith Ball got together with motorcycle rights leaders throughout the country and started the organization ABATE. Rogue was one of the founding members of that organization. He has been for many years and still is a member of the American Motorcycle Association, Harley Owners Group, ABATE Motorcycle Riders foundation, and BRO. Rogue is also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of Brevard, as well as the American Legion. And recently. “Biker Lives Matter”!!! The motorcyclist in Connecticut were successful in getting a Mandatory Helmet Law Repeal bill passed by their House and Senate. The Governor at that time was Ella Grosso. She stated to Rogue, that she was afraid of los-

ing Federal Highway Funds if she signed the bill and if he could remove that threat, she would sign the repeal. Rogue and others appeared before the Federal Transportation Sub-committee in the Nation’s Capital and when Rogue explained he was from the Constitution State, and he wanted to know when the Federal Government started condoning Blackmail and Extortion you could have heard a pin drop. He is still fighting to keep the highways free for bikers, Awesome!!! “And as I would say, It’s in the blood & a Big Thanks Rogue !!!” Rogue is still very active in fighting for motorcycle rights and is a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA), ABATE of Florida, and Harley Owners Group (HOG). It should be noted that HOG is not a legislative group, but Harley-Davidson does suggest its members join the AMA. He is also a member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation and BRO. He is a past certified motorcycle safety instructor with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Rogue moved to Melbourne and opened a motorcycle shop on US1 with his friend Ted Hinman. ~ Kip Kotler Article By Bob Bitchin :The Reverend part of his name was added a few years ago when he was ordained as a minister and started the Bikers Church in Connecticut. While he was President of the Huns, they managed to get a tax-free exemption on their clubhouses in Connecticut and even held services, sometimes called meetings. Aside from all of these activities, John found time to help start a magazine a few years back that was called “Colors” and was for the outlaw biker. He saw that the “outlaw” was one of the last vestiges of freedom and has done all in his power to help keep it that way. He is/was also a regular contributor to Eastrider’s Magazine and to CHOPPERS. Yes, there are very few men on this earth who are willing to get involved to keep motorcycling free, and who have the ideals and guts to back It up. The Rev. John Herlihy, better known as Rogue is one. This article is from Choppers April 1979 In the infancy of Eastrider’s, Lou Kimzey and Keith Ball sought out Rogue for his skill in organizing bikers against the mandatory helmet law in effect in Connecticut. He and his mentor Pappy with the fledgling Connecticut Motorcycle Riders Assn. and ABATE of Conn., had made headlines protesting a local park’s “no bikes allowed” ruling. Rogue was being harassed is because he was instrumental along with the late

Christine McVie ~ Song Bird Lyrics For you, there’ll be no more crying For you, the sun will be shining And I feel that when I’m with you It’s alright, I know it’s right To you, I’ll give the world To you, I’ll never be cold ‘Cause I feel that when I’m with you It’s alright, I know it’s right And the songbirds are singing, Like they know the score And I love you, I love you, I love you Like never before And I wish you all the love in the world But most of all, I wish it from myself And the songbirds keep singing Like they know the score And I love you, I love you, I love you Like never before, like never before, Like never before Christine McVie (to me) was the classy chick in the super group Fleetwood Mac! Stevie was up front while Christine enjoyed being in the background, this making her more sexy as she became “sultry”! Someone who is sultry is attractive in a way that suggests hidden passion, and that was Mrs. McVie. A beautiful person who had a beautiful voice, that caused her love for her craft to shine through for us, her admirers. RIP beautiful lady & thank you!

One the greatest bands ever, that struggled with so much controversy among it’s members!!! Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Fleetwood Mac were founded by guitarists and vocalists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, and drummer Mick Fleetwood. Bob Brunning was hired as a temporary bass guitarist before John McVie joined the line-up in time for their eponymous debut album. Fleetwood’s band had already faced some scandal. Guitarist Danny Kirwan was sacked in 1972 for alcoholism and violent behavior. A year later, his replacement, Bob Weston, was ousted after he had an affair with Mick Fleetwood’s then-wife. What did Stevie Nicks say about Lindsey Buckingham? She said: “It was me realizing that Lindsey was going to haunt me for the rest of my life, and he has.” The song was eventually released as the B-side for ‘Go Your Own Way’, and even though they are no longer on speaking terms, ‘Silver Springs’ is concrete proof of how much Buckingham meant to Nicks once upon a time. Stevie Nicks and Chops 42
Lindsey Buckingham began dating in the late 1960s, but had broken up by the time Fleetwood Mac worked on Rumours. Despite the split, they remained in the band until Buckingham’s sudden departure in 2018. Buckingham later claimed that it was Stevie who kicked him out the band. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have a long history together. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have a long and storied history that predates them joining the band that made them rock stars. Nicks and Buckingham were high school sweethearts. BUT REGARDLESS OF ALL THIS.......when all was said and done, Mick Fleetwood, John & Christine McVie with Stevie Nicks & Lyndsay Buckingham came together, swallowed their egos, (remember the McVies had divorced and the Stevie & Lyndsay were at odds), they still made some great sounds. Two albums, with each having many many awesome tunes, propelled them to be the best you could ask for, those albums, Rumours & The Dance. Her are some of those songs, can you sing along with them? 1.Rhiannon 2.Don’t Stop 3.Go Your Own Way 4.Hold Me 5.Everywhere 6.Gypsy 7.You Make Loving Fun - (bonus track) 8.As Long As You Follow 9.Dreams 10.Say You Love Me 11.Tusk 12.Little Lies 13.Tusk 14.Landslide 15.Songbird 16.Big Love

My grandfather was a methodist preacher, and as a kid, I spent most of my summers with my grandparents in Virginia. (Lord knows what happened to me.. but that’s a different story. lol) We were fishing one day at one of the parishioners homes and I spotted this 125cc Harley in the garage and had to have it. My grandpa bought it for me that day for $200.00. I had it running before nightfall, and rode the wheels off of that rust heap.
