WHAT’S IT MADE OF?

All COAT Paints are water-based. Traditional paint is solvent based (and give off that classic paint smell).

Water-based wins on almost every front, it’s cleaner, quicker to dry, easier to use and lower in VOC meaning no nasty odours. Not only that, but it also maintains it’s colour for longer.

To put it into context, the European limit of VOC is 30g per litre - our emulsion range uses 2g (the absolute minimum we can use).

All of our finishes are classified as ‘Scrub Class One’. This is the industry’s way of saying they have the highest level of abrasion resistance and cleanability (and are benchmarked against the highest industry standard).

WHICH COATS ARE NEEDED?

Surface or substrate: The primary surface should be sanded, clean and prepped.

PRIMER OR SEALER: Only required for new plaster (sealer) or brand new wood or metal.

Undercoat : This is the first main coat of colour which builds the foundation.

TOP COAT: The final coat which is seen. Smooth and rich in colour.

WHAT’S THE COVERAGE LIKE?

Coverage is 10 square meters per litre and you will only ever need two coats to achieve perfect colour and level of durability - saving time, effort and excess.
