Trees Trimmed on Reserve W hen it came time to trim trees and carry out routine maintenance on the Coatesville Reserve, Vector called in Treescape, the Kumeu-based specialists contracted to ensure trees remain a safe distance from overhead power lines. Over two days; Wednesday, 26 and Thursday, 27 January, a team of Treescape's workers trimmed branches that had grown too close to the lines and removed two dead trees. They also cleared and mulched fallen branches from the pedestrian path through the reserve and provided traffic control on the Highway.

Chairman of the Coatesville Hall and Reserve Advisory Committee (CHARAC), Alan Curtis, says the work was organised by Auckland Council and Vector. CHARAC liaises with Auckland Council to make sure Coatesville's reserve is well maintained and Alan says that a job has been logged with Council for removal of the dead tree behind the hall (shown below). The Coatesville Settlers Hall is available for hire under the Covid Red level. Hirers must comply with the rules which limit occupancy to 100 as long as all attendees have vaccination passes, or 25 if some do not.
