Storming around
Friends Max Alexander Conway and Tali Spencer braved the lighter side of Tuesday’s storm, with Max’s mim Megan, en route to “the cupcake store.” The heavy rains predicted led to an evacuation order that lasted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, impacting 150 residences in Carpinteria’s evacuation zone, most along Santa Monica and Carpinteria creeks in or near the burn zone of recent fires. At press time, Carpinterians were gearing up for the last surge of the second storm predicted to move in late Wednesday afternoon. Storm updates and emergency preparation information can be found at readysbc.org. See page 25 for more rainy day photos. ROBIN KARLSSON
