Junior Warriors youth tackle football kicked off their season on Saturday, Aug. 24, with sophomore jamboree scrimmages at Carpinteria High School. Sophomore teams from as far as Saugus tested their skills and worked out the bugs before jumping into the regular season. Deven “Drip” Garces proves size doesn’t matter with a big-hearted carry and never-ending tenacity against Newbury Park. Junior Warrior tackle players and cheerleaders will play this weekend in San Fernando against Crossroads. ROSANA SWING
