Best on the beach

Carpinteria’s Junior Guards of the Week embody the program’s spirit of hard work and great attitude, excelling on the sand and in the waves. These young lifesavers are learning how to keep eachother encouraged and maintain the city’s reputation of having the “World’s Safest Beach.” At Carpinteria’s City Beach, junior guards can also be found training for this year’s California Surf Lifesaving Association championships to be held later this summer. Pictured are this week’s Junior Guards of the Week: top row, Hazel Postma; middle row from left, Axel Nordholm and Canyon Atkinson; bottom row from left, Izzy Scott, Guilia Piccoletti and Lili Nemetz.
