On March 6, G&K Farm/K&G Flower was Carpinteria Valley’s first commercial cannabis grower approved for a Coastal Development Permit. Santa Barbara County’s rigorous permitting framework requires cannabis cultivators to meet a long list of agricultural, health, safety and odor abatement standards—making cannabis more tightly regulated than any other crop in the county. Pictured, Graham Farrar owner of G&K Farm/K&G Flower and Glass House Farms is at work in a Glass House nursery with Jason Downs, senior manager of cannabis operations.
