New Year’s Day brought dozens of hikers together for the first trek of 2019 along the Carpinteria Bluffs. Nature-lovers of all ages, including dogs and children, walked a six mile loop from Carpinteria State Beach to Rincon. About three-quarters of the participants were locals from Carpinteria, a handful were from Ventura, and the rest were campers hailing from around the world. Pictured on the hike, strolling in the sunlight of a cool California day, are locals Harry Manuras and Amanda McIntyre. The annual event is organized by Carpinteria State Beach.
