Kayanna Diaz and Jeremy Saito went from regular to royalty last week. The pair was crowned Carpinteria High School’s Homecoming King and Queen in events surrounding the big homecoming football victory over Trinity Classical Academy on Oct. 13. Homecoming Queen nominees are selected by the student body. Nominees for “Mr. Warrior” the Homecoming King, are selected by athletic teams and clubs. Fifteen Mr. Warrior nominees compete for the title and Jeremy Saito—captain of the men’s tennis team, president of the Mock Trail club and member of the marching band, JSA and film production—prevailed over a talented field of fellow nominees. See more photos of the Mr. Warrior contest on pages 12 and 13, and more Homecoming princess coverage on page 11.
