Cruz Marsella, left, and Augustus Bridgford logged the most laps run at 19 apiece during Summerland Elementary School’s jog-a-thon on Friday, Sept. 21. The Summerland Waves ran along Summerland’s waves, as the course was laid out on the beach a short distance from campus. The run was scheduled for the afternoon low tide, and was followed by a barbecue at Lookout Park. Canalino Elementary held their jog-a-thon on the same day, with DJ music and cheering parents to help keep the energy up. Financial pledges are due to the schools on Friday, Oct. 5.
