Kainoa Glasgow, left, dribbles circles with Sebastian Campuzano-Reed, right, during the Carpinteria Mavericks Athletics basketball club’s annual Dribble Drive last Saturday. The pair, along with more than a hundred of their peers, ran down Linden Avenue to the beach to compete in skill competitions, raising money for the club. Club founder Ryan Reed said the club raised over $10,000 in donations from that day. “Traffic was stopped as these student athletes bounced, jogged and dribbled down Linden and Carpinteria avenues before spending two hours shooting free throws,” Reed said.
