TSUNAMI AIM FOR FOURTH WIN

The Coastal Tsunami (3-1) finish the weekend with a home game against the Aldergrove Kodiaks (0-5).

Coastal is looking for their first victory of the weekend, while Aldergrove is looking to get into the win column for the first time this season.

Friday's game against the White Rock Whalers could have gone either way, but a win was simply not meant for the Tsunami.

The Tsunami gave up five goals and were not great in their zone. The team was slow to pucks and had difficulty passing the puck to one another. They will look to clear up this stuff against a Kodiaks team that has given up 40 goals, the most of any team to this point of the season.

After this, the Tsunami hit the road for a Tuesday contest in Delta and a Wednesday tilt in Aldergrove. The club is back home to host Grandview on Saturday for their orange shirt game.

BECKHAM ANGUS

BRAEDEN PAYNE

The only player on the Kodiaks with multiple points this season is 2006-born forward Beckham Angus. The 202425 campaign is his second in the PJHL Angus suited up in all but one regular-season game with Aldergrove last season, where he found the back of the net eight times, assisted on 11 markers, and had a total of 19 points in 47 games.

This season, the left-shot forward has a goal and an assist in four games. The Tsunami will need to keep their eyes on him.

Friday’s game may not have gone in favour of the home team, but there were still some bright spots, including Braeden Payne scoring his first PJHL goal.

Payne (5'11”, 159 pounds) spent the past season in the BCEHL with the U17 North West Hawks. He suited up in 36 games, scored seven goals, and added 17 assists for 24 points.

The blueliner plays a quick transitional game, making it easy to jump in on the attack, and is also an impressive puck mover. Payne sits third in rookie scoring in the PJHL with three points (1-2) in four games
