




A new opponent is up in the battle of the Salish Cup as the Richmond Sockeyes (10-3) visit the Sunshine Coast (7-4-0-1) for a doubleheader this weekend.
On Friday, hundreds will gather to celebrate our beloved Canadian pastime and join forces in the fight against cancer—a battle that affects us all.
Both teams enter Friday’s game as winners of their last contests, with the Sockeyes defeating Surrey 9-1 on October 14 and the Tsunami blanking the Langley Trappers 2-0 on October 12.

Sockeyes forward Nicholas Noren is just one of two 2004born players on the Richmond Sockeyes this season Noren is in his third and final campaign with the Sockeyes, producing at a very high rate.
The left-shot forward has scored 11 goals and assisted on 14, giving him 25 points through the first 13 games of the season The Vernon, BC, product is seven points ahead of Teo Lin for first in Sockeyes scoring and third in the PJHL
The Tsunami will need to have their eyes on him.
The Sockeyes may have a player from Vernon, BC (Nicholas Noren), but so does the Coastal Tsunami in Jayden Attwood.
Attwood (6’3”, 205 pounds) spent parts of the past two seasons in the VIJHL with the Campbell River Storm. He played 18 regular season games, registered one goal, and added six assists for seven points
The right-shot blueliner is the twenty-fourth player to commit to playing for the Tsunami. He has played big minutes in four games with Coastal and has recorded an assist.
