It’s that special time of year again!

We’re gearing up for our annual Holiday Run, spreading warmth, joy, and festive cheer to all of our patients across the four counties. Volunteers are needed to help deliver holiday gifts and smiles from December 9–12.

As we enter November the season of gratitude I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each of you for the time, compassion, and energy you continue to give throughout the year. It’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of another year! The next two months will be jam-packed with opportunities to connect, give back, and spread holiday joy across our communities, to our patients, and their families. From tree decorating and holiday parades to our annual Angel Appeal and Holiday Run, there will be no shortage of ways to get involved and make a difference

A special thank-you goes out to all volunteers who have completed their annual education and participated in our flu campaign your commitment helps keep everyone safe and ensures we continue to deliver the highest level of care. I am so grateful for each of you and all that you do to support our mission. Stay tuned for updates and volunteer opportunities as we wrap up the year with gratitude, joy, and service! This holiday season, we are excited to participate in Christmas parades throughout the community and invite our volunteers to help share the joy with patients, families, and neighbors

Volunteers are needed to assist at the following events: Pocomoke – December 1 at 7:00 PM, Berlin –December 4 at 7:00 PM, and Ocean City – December 6 at 11:00 AM.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us decorate across Delmarva by assisting with our Angel Appeal tree decorating in all 4 counties at several locations!

Volunteers are needed to help decorate trees from Dec. 1–5 and to take them down during Dec. 28–Jan. 2

“THESERVICECIRLE”

The Service Circle is our new monthly Zoom gathering designed to help Coastal Hospice volunteers connect, share experiences, and support one another. Join us on the second Monday (Nov 10th) of each month from 1:00–2:00 PM to build friendships, exchange ideas, and stay engaged with our mission all from the comfort of home.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHTOF

MONTH:

This month, we are pleased to recognize Barbara Kaloroumakis for her exceptional dedication and service. Barbara consistently goes above and beyond, assisting multiple patients during her lunch breaks each week and even utilizing her vacation time to provide additional support She approaches her volunteer work with a positive attitude, always wearing a smile and sharing her “bag of love” with those in need. In addition to her contributions within our organization, Barbara is actively engaged in the community and participates in our knitting class at Healthway, demonstrating her commitment to service in multiple ways. Her flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed including supporting our office make her an invaluable member of our volunteer team We are grateful for Barbara’s compassion, generosity, and steadfast dedication to enhancing the lives of our patients and community.

Volunteer Tip of the Month:

Be Observant – Notice changes in a patient’s mood, behavior, or overall condition, even small ones Report anything concerning to staff promptly, as your observations help ensure the best care and comfort.
