CBC Hosts Alice Welding Lab Ribbon Cutting thanks to the JET Grant

Coastal Bend College was named as a recipient of the Texas Workforce Commission’s Jobs and Education for Texans Grant. The College presented a check in the Amount of $272,196 from Emily Clodfelter, the JET Director. CBC used the funds from the grant to renovate the welding lab at the CBC-Alice site.

A ribbon cutting and open house were held December 3. CBC welding students were joined by dual enrollment students from Alice High School. A plasma cutting table, which integrates a desktop computer to cut out designs from metal, welding machines, a new venting system, compressors, and other welding supplies were purchased with the grant monies.
