BOATS TAKEN Fly Fishing Corner

“It depends” is probably one of the most used words from guides all over the world when it comes to answering a client’s question.
There is not such a thing like “for sure” in the fishing game regardless of how talented you may be. Thank goodness we are really spoiled here on the Treasure Coast. “It depends” is more related to what kind of fish we chase and fishing techniques, instead of catching or not catching.
It all depends on the weather where I chose my fly fishing. March can be a great month for inshore, nearshore and offshore. Having all these options on a good day provides a whole variety for all kinds of species and my customers appreciate it no matter where they’re from.

incredible night fishing. Spring is a great time for this type of fly fishing and typically delivers consistent good numbers of snook in all sizes. A lot of the daytime spots work well but add all the docks with their lights on top and you have even more spots to choose from. There are still plenty of dock lights out there but compare to three years ago where we had at least 40% more lights for our fishing available that changed it quite a bit.
Not sure why so many dock lights are not getting turned on anymore but I sure hope it will change back. Enjoy springtime happy fly people!
