The Delray Beach Police Department Fishing Clinic forKidsCity
The Delray Beach Police Department and The KOP Mentoring Network hosted their annual Fishing Clinic for City Kids. This program is a way to expose children of the community to an activity that they may not have otherwise had access to. The children who are selected to participate in the event have succeeded in academics and are being rewarded with a day out on the water. This year, more than 30 children who achieved high marks throughout this school year participated.

With the help from volunteers and sponsors, the kids were able to go out on boats at Lake Ida Park and fish. They had an amazing day on the water! Many volunteers and Officers from The Delray Beach Police Department were there to lend a helping hand with the kids as they identified fish, learned knot tying skills, and of course, reeled in many fish.
KOP is an organization led by Mr. C. Ron Allen. KOP provides mentoring services to children of our community and exposes them to professions and mentors. KOP is a character-building, mentorship, and gang prevention program designed to foster leadership, academic success, and civic mindedness in youths 7-17. KOP prepares youths to thrive in school, work, and civic life.
