July fishing in Florida panhandle can be red hot. From snapper fishing to targeting Pelagics it can all be good during the midsummer in this area. Your biggest enemy in July can be acquiring fresh live bait. As the water warms up the bait but can get lethargic and even though they may be around in droves, the cigar minnow and herring can be difficult to catch at times.

The Destin pass, the piers and the inshore wrecks should all be holding bait but we recommend setting a pinfish trap the night before so you can have a starter kit before your day starts.

Fresh, live-bait is crucial in July when it comes to reef fishing as these fish receive more and more pressure daily from the summer grind. We recommend a number 4 or 5 Hyabusa sabiki rig for catching live baits when the going gets tough. Yes they are expensive but you might as well pony up to capitalize on your time!

Good luck and happy July fishing!
