TIME FOR BOWFISHING
What do you do when hunting season comes to an end and its hot outside. There is nothing else to do with your bow and you find yourself sitting around reminiscing on your great archery adventures. There is a remedy to the August wait. And that my friends is Bowfishing!!

If you are not familiar with this wonderful sport. Let me give you some details. You basically combine bow hunting and spear fishing into one marvelous masterpiece. Between a recurve and compound bow with multiple reel options you can personalize your hunt to best fit you. A fiberglass arrow is then attached by a braided Bowfishing line. Like a miniature rope. Connected to that fiberglass shaft is your fishing tip. You have your pick from a variety of different style heads depending on your personal preference. Pro tip: Where polarized glasses if you shoot during the day. For night fishing you want to run a yellowish warm light for deeper visibility. Now that have an idea about the equipment you need, you are ready to take plunge. Whether you are shooting from the bank or a boat the challenge is just the same. The excitement of when your next fish will swim by, the intensity of remembering to aim low in order to snag your quarry and the knowledge of knowing that when you miss there is always plenty of fish in the sea. Or lake, canal, pond wherever you decide to hunt.
That being said. You have a plethora of species to choose from that makes your Bowfishing experiences limitless. Our waters are full of evasive fish that destroy our ecosystem. Our native species are being picked off by these non native carnivores that encroach their beds and eat their eggs. They raise their own babies in the beds they takeover and the processes repeats itself. Not only are you helping save our waters but some of these evasive vermin are quite delicious.
So when you start getting those archery blues and unsure of what to do. Enter your local archery shop and talk to them about this amazing way to fling sticks at fish.
