WELCOME ABOARD! WELCOME ABOARD

Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico Edition

Coastal Angler is proud to welcome Ace Bassue back into its publishing group. After the COVID-19 pandemic, two massive hurricanes and international shipping challenges, the Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico Edition is set to publish again!

Given that many changes have occurred in our publishing mechanics, pricing and new digital platforms, Ace recently attended a refresher training class held live in St. Cloud, FL. According to Ace, “The new Video Magazine with its numerous tourism bureau accounts is a perfect match for what the Virgin Islands government advertising department is looking to accomplish.”

Ace and Coastal Angler Magazine were recently featured on page one of the St. Croix Avis newspaper which shone a spotlight on the strong connection between the fisheries of the Virgin Islands and international tourism. What angler would not want to experience the worldfamous marlin, mahi, tuna, sailfish and wahoo runs associated with the pelagic migration of these species to the pristine waters of the Virgin Islands each year?

Coastal Angler salutes Ace for his determination and perseverance in brining back this well-loved local Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico publication.

2nd Location! Lakeland Edition

We are pleased to announce that Capt. Joe Gruny, the new Co-Publisher of The Angler Magazine Okeechobee edition, and his fiancé Racheal Proctor have recently acquired their second Franchise location—Lakeland, Florida!

Capt. Joe moved to Florida in 1987 and immediately jumped into the bassfishing scene, fishing the Okeechobee and South Florida tournament trails. In 2010 Joe attained his captain’s license and started guiding in Okeechobee and South Florida, quickly becoming one of South Florida’s top fishing guides for largemouth and peacock bass.

In 2019 Capt. Joe moved to Lake Placid, Fla. and expanded his knowledge about Central Florida lakes as a guide on Fellsmere Headwaters Lake.

In 2021 Capt. Joe opened Marine and Tackle Warehouse in Sebring, Fla.

Capt. Joe will run both franchises with his fiancé, Racheal Proctor. Racheal will use her background in marketing, events and social media to help grow their business and spread the word about the sport she and Joe love.
