Martin Loeppky Biography Ever since I was a little boy, I wanted to be a truck driver. I can remember driving along with my parents. I always needed to sit on the left side of the vehicle so that I could see all the trucks that would drive by. My dream was to drive all across North America with a shiny tractor-trailer unit. Since I needed experience to drive a “Big Rig”, I opted for an in city truck driving job. In January of 1976, at the age of 22, I started working at Reimer Express Lines – first on the dock and then doing deliveries with a “Big Rig”. I didn’t have that big shiny truck that I had dreamed of, but I was okay with that. After 15 years of accident free driving with Reimer Express, I was awarded a one-million mile jacket. Shortly after, Reimer Express Lines was acquired by Roadway Express and then again by YRC Freight. Both of these companies were in the United States. In 2009, I was again awarded a million mile jacket for accident free driving by YRC which is now known as YRC Reimer. On January 19, 2016 I acquired 40 years of service and 37 years of accident free driving and no lost time injury.
