DON REA PRESIDENT OF PGA OF AMERICA ATTENDS SPRING MEETING

Fulfilling a promise to visit the Central New York PGA Section, PGA of America President Don Rea, MP PGA was this year’s guest speaker at the Annual Spring Meeting on April 21

In his opening remarks, Rea commented on being able to finally make it to Central New York

“When I come to Sections that are small, under 200 members, it’s like everybody’s a much tighter group,” Rea said. “They are all pulling each other in the same direction. The amount of owners that are in the room who also are PGA Members and encouraging other PGA Members to be owners like them that’s probably the biggest thing I’m going to take away from today’s meeting The Section is 200 strong and they are not all working against each other They know in order to survive you have to work together That’s what I see and feel ”

Rea said he was impressed with the work of PGA REACH CNY.

“What PGA REACH is doing is great,” he said “A lot of bigger Sections aren’t doing what this small Section is doing ”

While statistics alone cannot capture how golf is transforming lives in communities across our section, it remains the sole mission of PGA REACH CNY. Rain rain go away!!! The May flowers are currently drowning

The first Pro-Am of the year is officially here, and I couldn’t be more excited to get back out on the course. There's something magical about that first one of the season— the sound of a clean drive, the sparkle of fresh-cut greens, and the buzz of players ready to make the most of the year

One thing I’m especially looking forward to this year is covering more Junior League Golf matches. These young players bring incredible energy, sportsmanship, and passion to the game - all with help from our members, their Coaches! So if you’ve got any match dates coming upt—please reach out! I’m eager to be there, camera in hand, ready to catch every fist pump and high five

Here’s to a season full of fair weather, great scores, and even better stories. Let’s make this one to remember!
