‘24 TOURNAMENT SEASON

The 2024 tournament season is right around the corner and registrations for events are now open! Our season will kick off with our Turning Stone Resort Casino Travel Pro-Am, being held on April 28th through 30th. This is a fun and exciting event to kick the season off, teams will be treated to rounds at all 3 championship courses as well as on course prizes and tee gifts each day.

New this year to the event is a “Golf Only (No Rooms)” registration option. For more information visit the cny.pga.com website or contact the section office!

Our first Rolex Player of the Year point event will be on May 13th as we return to Turning Stone for the first of our Pro-Am Series. This year's event will be held on the Shenendoah Golf Course.

Spots are limited so please get your team together and register as soon as possible! Looking forward to another great season

CNY PGA RECEIVES WORKS FELLOW GRANT

This is truly an exciting time for the Central New York PGA and PGA REACH CNY. We now have an opportunity to grow our foundation staff and our outreach within the local community thanks to the WORKS fellowship program. This is an annual grant that we've been selected for in perpetuity. Having someone in a full-time capacity executing our outreach programs and initiatives will have a tremendous impact on what we are trying to do when it comes to creating more diversity and inclusion, our development of junior golfers and our ability to help our veterans. We fully expect that all of our WORKS fellowships will have jobs within the industry and become an integral part of the game and business of golf here in Central New York for many years.

WORKS FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION

Any PGA Members interested in being a part of this years' PGA of America Golf Professional led teamplease fill out THIS FORM by Friday, March 22 to be considered. Runners will be responsible for the following :

- $315 runner registration fee to the TCS New York City Marathon for those who don't have an account with NYRR and $255 for those who do

- $3,000 fundraising minimum

- Responsible for all upfront costs as it relates to travel to and from NYC*

A BIG thank you to the 26 facilities that participated in 2023 which included (3) new clubs coming on board! This program supports multiple Junior Tours, Drive, Chip & Putt, and PGA Jr. League. Your contribution is key to the success of these programs as we continue to grow the game of golf in Central New York. Stay tuned for the 2024 Member Club Program in the near future.

The spring meeting of the membership will be held on April 15th, 2024 at 9am. Please be sure to mark you calendar and join us at Turning Stone Resort Casino to kick off the season!

PGA JR. LEAGUE

The 2024 Spring Season league has officially closed. The first league of the year will be teams from Turning Stone Resort Casino, Skaneateles, The Links at Erie Village and Tuscarora Golf Club. Thank you for your commitment to growing the game and let’s kick the season off as soon as we can!

Coach’s registration is open for summer teams! Please reach out with any interest or questions you may have about starting your team or getting ready to begin your season!

Remember by being a coach of a Jr. League golf team you can earn 75 deferred comp points or 125 points if you have a full league of your own (24 players)!

If you are interested in volunteering or assisting at qualifiers this summer please feel free to reach out at any time, and we will keep you in the loop as to where and when our qualifiers are scheduled.

Please be sure to tune in to the Drive, Chip & Putt Finals on ESPN the Sunday before the Masters to see the National Championship live!

SECTION & NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Our Scholarship Program was created with the purpose to encourage higher education goals for the children and grandchildren of Central New York PGA Members who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement during high school or college.

We would like to congratulate Catherine Dadey and Sophia Ferris for winning the scholarship for this past academic year.

Deadline to submit the scholarship application for this upcoming Fall Semester is 5:00 PM July 26, 2024.
