Crouse Hospital Welcomes Interns from MercyWorks’ Synergy Program

Crouse recently welcomed five summer interns from MercyWorks’ Synergy internship program. They’ll be working Monday through Thursday until Aug. 3.

The Synergy Leadership Internship offers college-enrolled students the development, training and exposure they need to succeed. Through the 10-week internship, students are placed in a summer experience targeted toward their field of study.

• Chadani Timsina, pre-med, Dartmouth College (ED, Michelle Michael-Korn)

Multi-organ blood analysis event offered in Fulton

Oswego Health’s annual multi-organ blood analysis will be offered July 15th at the Fulton Medical Center in partnership with the Fulton Kiwanis Club.

This full battery of tests can help prevent potential health problems. The cost of the analysis is $55 and for every participant, Oswego Health will donate $5 to the Fulton Kiwanis. Typically, these tests can cost more than $760.

In addition, there are two optional tests that each cost an additional $20. They include the prostate specific antigen (PSA) test, which is recommended to men older than age 50, as well as a vitamin D test.

Oswego Health Foundation sponsors ‘For Your Health 5K and Wellness Event’

The Oswego Health Foundation announces its eighth annual “For Your Health 5K and Wellness Event,” presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, will be held Saturday, Aug. 12. Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate.

As a nonprofit healthcare system, Oswego Health relies on events such as this to support the healthcare needs and initiatives of the commu- nity. The event will focus on overall wellness and feature community partners, local vendors, and resources to help strengthen the health of the community. In addition, the event will feature a kids’ fun run at 9 a.m. and the “For Your Health” 5K run/ walk will start at 9:30 a.m. at the scenic course on the Seneca Hill campus, between Fulton and Oswego, off Route 481 on Route 45A.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female 5K finishers in both the walking and running divisions of the For Your Health 5K. Community members can register online at www.oswegohealth.org/5k.
