My portfolio in front of you represents who I am, an energetic creative, industrial designer, who is always looking for new aspirations and challenges in life.
As you turn every page you will be able to look through my journey as well as my evolution that has been guided by the use of organic shapes, helping me fusion my creativity with motion to achieve great results, which are portrayed by the research, analysis and development of different projects.
CACOON Cacoon was part of an insect-inspired lamp collection that was designed to show how nature elements could be incorporated into an urban scenario. In order to portray my idea, I used wire, fique (vegetable fiber), and a gold threat to develop an organic form and simulate a natural touch. With the materials used, I was also able to generate different light reflects on making the space look like a labyrinth of light. 2009 Lamp Size 52x 32 cm

AVANTI After being able to study Raymond Loewy’s life and designs, I created the bottle of the perfume Avanti based on his style of design. His designs are unique and always cutting-edge. The perfume was named after Avanti, a 1963-car design that means forward in Italian and sets the idea of looking ahead. Bearing in mind this idea the perfume was named Avanti and it is distinctive because it aims to make women feel glamorous, portrayed by its aerodynamic form. I also designed a poster as well as the packaging not leaving behind the perfumes identity, to show what target I was going after and how this product could look and be placed in a real market scenario. 2010 Perfume Size 10x10 cm Poster Size 21x28 cm Poster and Packaging Fonts Snell Roundhand Avenir

POSTER ICSID In celebration of World Industrial Design Day on 29 June 2011, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) invited designers from around the globe to initiate events reflecting that year's theme: "Industrial Design: How does it improve your life?" For this specific project, I came up with the idea of using the circle to point out and seek attention to the public about this day. From that point on as a team, we worked together in developing and making the poster, a creative piece that looked appealing to the eye not only for its content but most importantly for the use of fonts and color. This poster was chosen as the top three finalists. Team Andrea Mallarino Lina Ramirez Juan Camilo Saldarriaga

BAUHAUS The Bauhaus movement which is functional, original and art-inspired helped me design this chair. My design, an interpretation of the movement, maintains the style and follows the parameters of the Bauhaus to reach a coherent translation with the style of that time in order to bring it up to date a new creation. Additionally, a poster was designed in order to show the public a final product and how it could be advertised maintaining the style of use. 2011 Chair Size 87x43x31 cm Poster Size 28x43 cm

SALUBRY This project was divided into two stages. The first part was the object/ physical product which in this case is the robot and the second part was the smartphone application. Salubry was presented as a combination of services. In the first part, a robot was designed to provide a purchase assistance in supermarkets. Then, an application handles the logistics of the service and allows the user to interact directly with the system. Salubry is confined to the store, specifically mapped and available to clients to assist them while purchasing. The application, on the other hand, is part of the project that comes into any users' homes. It can be used at any time from a smartphone to compile a shopping list, refer to guides on diets, check nutritional values, identify the products in the asiles , and be informed of any promotions. The project finally reaches its highest expression and functionality upon synchronization between the users' smartphone and the robots at the store. 2012 Robot Size 420x900 cm
BROOM Indesit an Italian company based in Fabriano, Ancona province, is one of the leading European manufacturers and distributors of major domestic appliances. The company asked each designer to design a vacuum cleaner with a specific target (Young women) given by them. As a result I created Broom inspired by the shape of the head of the ant eater. This shaped helped me design a more comfortable vacuum cleaner by giving the user the possibility to grab it and hold it in different positions that will be shown as you turn the pages. Size 12x40 cm

KEEPER My thesis project was a request from an Italian Armando Curcio Editore, an Italian company based in Rome. The project TABLET@SCHOOL was designed for kids to change their encyclopedias and books look and their experience. The main purpose was for kids to carry all the information everywhere in an innovate tablet. The trapper keeper inspired my design as well as the shape portrayed by the dividers. A key factor the tablet has is that I have a double screen which allows kids to use this table as a notebook and a book a the same time making their learning experience more amicable. The app allows students pose questions that otherwise reluctant and shy students would never dare to ask thus the anonymously possibility helps them ask without any hesitation and on the other hand teachers can also save all the questions and identify students' weaknesses. The students later can record or take notes when the teacher reviews the questions. Size 18.4x27x1.4 cm

BIOMAX'S IDENTITY Biomax is a company that produces and distributes lubricant oils in Colombia. In 2013 UNO another lubricant company from Central America bought part of the company and as result Biomax requested Plasticos Rainbow S.A.S, the company I am currently working for, to redesign the identity for the bottles of 1/8 AG, 1/4 AG, AND 1 AG. In order to be able to show the new the concept. I did modifications to the bottles that are now sold nationally. This was possible by redesigning their identity and proposing a change of color and incorporating appealing labels to generate a new fresh identification and style for the company.

CAMPO CLARO LOGO AND LABELS Campo Claro is a new Venezuelan beverage company that will start operating in Barquisimeto in the second semester of 2016. I was asked to design the logo as well as three labels for their new project. These products include a tea (Kenko) and two juices (Two Mix and Jarrita). The company was looking for very clean, minimalistic and innovative designs for the logo and as well for the labels that will be launching to continue the same line and guarantee a brand recall.
