Northern B.C. is famous for its natural beauty, with outdoor activities only minutes away, no matter where you are. There are hundreds of lakes in the region that are perfect for fishing, waterskiing, or just soaking up the sun. If you’re into sports, you’ll love exploring the countless bike paths and hiking trails in the region, or snowboarding and skiing on the same slopes as 2015 Canada Winter Games athletes.

When you need a break, the area is home to a symphony orchestra, art galleries, and professional and amateur theatre groups. Concerts and music festivals happen year-round.

Your choice of six campuses CNC has provided education in northern B.C. since 1969, and we take pride in being connected to the people and communities we serve. We offer a wide variety of programming and services at six campuses throughout the region. We’ve also expanded trades programming in our new $30 million trades and technology centres at our Prince George and Quesnel campuses.

he north offers a lifestyle worth boasting about! Our campuses are located in small, safe communities surrounded by spectacular wilderness.

Prince George Prince George is a great mix of city and country living. It’s Northern B.C.’s capital and an active city of 80,000 people.

Prince George is home to our largest campus with 3,700 students. The campus hosted athletes from across the nation at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Burns Lake (Lakes District) Our Lakes District campus is surrounded by some of B.C.’s largest and most beautiful freshwater lakes.

Academically, the campus has gained worldwide attention for its Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder advanced diploma, which is delivered online.

Mackenzie A destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts, Mackenzie is known for its winter sports including dog sled racing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling competitions. Programs range from Haul Truck and Crane Operator to First Aid and Legal Administrative Assistant.

Fort St. James Located on the eastern shore of Stuart Lake, our Fort St. James campus boasts an area with numerous lakes and rivers suited to various water activities, and rolling hills and forests to hike and mountain bike.

The campus has a close relationship with Mt. Milligan Mines to provide muchneeded training for the mining industry.

Vanderhoof Vanderhoof is the geographic centre of the province, as well as home to CNC’s first regional campus, which opened in 1975. Programs include Administrative Assistant, Family Childcare Training, trades and more.

Quesnel Quesnel is rich in culture with more than 30 heritage sites around town.

The campus earned the Governor General’s Award for Architecture in 2012.

Programs include Social Work, Nursing, Millwright, Power Engineering and more.

Programs and courses CNC offers over 70 flexible and transferable programs and courses. Along with being one of the most affordable post-secondary institutions in the province, CNC offers small class sizes (no class is larger than 37 students), skilled instructors, handson practical training and an unforgettable student experience.

The Centre has a full-time academic advisor, part-time tutoring support and essential advice on financial support. Centre for Student Success: Get help with study skills, test-taking strategies, time management, tutoring and more. Essay writing can be difficult for many students, but the Centre for Student Success can help you work through writer’s block and other obstacles to get the best mark on your paper. accessibility Services: We want all of our students to succeed in their studies. Student awards and Financial assistance: Yes, you can afford college, and we can help! The Student Awards and Financial Assistance office provides a variety of services including help with applications to Student Aid BC, advice on personal budgeting, and the Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG). Your hard work and dedication may also make you eligible for our scholarships and bursaries.

All your amenities on campus Pick up a unique gift item in our bookstore, relieve your stress in a fitness class, or have lunch with your friends in Kodiaks restaurant. You can also get involved with the Students’ Union or relax and study in our extensive library.

Bookstore: The bookstore stocks a variety of gifts and necessities, from comfy clothes to snacks and stationery. Need textbooks for class? Get your personal booklist at the bookstore – it has everything you need. You can even avoid lines by ordering your textbooks online from the comfort of your home.

Cafeteria: It’s really more of a dining experience than a cafeteria when you try our Professional Cook students’ gourmet hot lunches at a great price. The cafeteria also offers a diverse salad bar, soups, baked goods and more!

Health and Wellness Centre: A medical doctor and nurse practitioner are available to provide primary health care services for CNC students who do not have a family doctor, or for those who require nonurgent walk-in services.

Kodiaks restaurant: Kodiaks – run by our Professional Cook students and chefs – has gained a reputation for fine dining that attracts local foodies every season. The restaurant is only open a few months each year for lunch and dinner, so don’t miss out.

Library: More than 180,000 books and 2,200 movies – need we say more? Campus libraries offer a wide range of resources, services and staff to support you through your studies. Grab a book, find a quiet corner, and relax! recreation: All of our students have free year-round access to CNC recreation facilities and fitness classes.

Students’ Union: Your student association provides many services including locker rentals, medical/dental plans, U-Pass (transit/pool pass), discounted travel cards and help finding a place to live. Get involved and make a difference!

Accommodation Our campus in Prince George offers a recently renovated 92room student residence. Your private room comes with basic furniture, and a mini-kitchen with a microwave, sink, and small fridge. The spacious shared common areas feature two comfortable lounges, TVs, a pool table, a main floor kitchen, laundry rooms, and park-like grounds with a patio and barbecue. Six resident advisors also live on-site to support you throughout the semester.

Rates start at $420 per month. Residence fills up quickly, so apply early!
