LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Families, As we reflect on the past year, it is with immense gratitude and pride that we share the remarkable achievements and milestones that have defined our school’s journey. The support and generosity of our community have played a pivotal role in making these accomplishments possible. This year also marks a double celebration for us – the 115th school year since Oxford School’s opening in 1909 and the 50th anniversary of the first graduating class of the merger of Kingswood and Oxford schools. These milestones serve as poignant reminders of our rich history and the enduring spirit that binds us together.

First and foremost, we are thrilled to announce that the Annual Fund has surpassed all expectations, raising over $1.4 million. This achievement marks the highest amount ever raised for our school, a testament to the unwavering commitment of our community. These unrestricted

dollars will be instrumental in enhancing and strengthening every facet of our school, ensuring a vibrant and dynamic educational experience for our students.

In addition to this outstanding accomplishment, we are delighted to highlight some other notable fundraising successes. The Kingswood Class of 1962, in a heartwarming display of loyalty and philanthropy, raised over $62,000 to establish an endowed fund.

This fund will honor a teacher each year at the Prize Assembly, a touching tribute that reflects the lasting impact of educators on our students’ lives. Furthermore, the construction of new KO baseball dugouts is complete, thanks to the generosity of several KO families. These projects not only improve our facilities but also symbolize the strong sense of community and collaboration that defines us.

We also want to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our students this past year. From the girls’ softball team clinching the championship to the Model UN and Forensic Union’s stellar performances and notable achievements in the visual and performing arts, including a memorable Baird Symposium author visit by Tayari Jones – our students continue to shine brightly, embodying the excellence that defines KO. Our deepest gratitude goes out to each member of our community for your unparalleled generosity.

Your commitment to our school ensures that we continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students. As we embark on another year, we do so with immense pride, gratitude, and a shared commitment to the success and well-being of our school. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.

LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

I am honored and privileged to address you as the newly appointed Board Chair of Kingswood Oxford School. As I embark on this important journey, I would like to personally recognize and express my gratitude to our former chairperson, Mary Martin ’77, P’17, ’20. Mary’s exemplary leadership, dedication, and mentorship have been instrumental in preparing me for this critical role. Her tireless efforts have guided the board through significant milestones including navigating the Covid era, the sale of Trout Brook property and the launch of the Community Commons campaign - and we are profoundly thankful for her contributions.

As an alumnus of Kingswood Oxford, along with my wife and three children, my roots in this community run deep. My personal connection to the school allows me to understand firsthand the transformative impact of a Kingswood Oxford education. I have witnessed the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, character development, and the holistic growth of each student. It is this commitment that has shaped not only my life but also the lives of countless others.

I am excited to take on the responsibility of stewarding Kingswood Oxford into the next phase of its promising future. Our school has a rich history, and I am committed to working with the board of Trustees to preserve and enhance the

legacy that has been built over the years. I have great confidence in the dedicated faculty and staff who understand the uniqueness of each student and create a supportive and inspiring learning environment. Our community has always been a source of strength and support. I am grateful for the unwavering commitment of parents, alumni, and friends who have contributed to the success of Kingswood Oxford. As we look towards the future, we are committed to maintaining the core values that define our school while embracing opportunities for growth and innovation.

In the coming years, we will continue to build upon the foundation laid by those who came before us. Together, as a united community, we will shape a future for Kingswood Oxford that reflects our commitment to excellence, character, and the development of wellrounded individuals.

This year, Kingswood Oxford was the recipient of several thoughtful planned gifts from our Oxford alumnae. These women chose to support an institution that gave them a strong education and life-long connections and friendships.
