LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Distinguished Donors, Volunteers and Friends, Kingswood Oxford made great strides in adjusting to new ways of learning this past year. The flexibility and positivity displayed by each and every community member, each and every day were our strengths. What an incredible team effort! This past year and the previous one offered us no playbook. How do we teach and engage our students in a pandemic? How can we best support our students’ academic and emotional needs? How do we move forward on our Strategic Vision in a global crisis? All of us were pushed to the edge of our abilities and comfort level which, I believe, helped us grow.

Our thinking was simple. It came down to trust and transparency among all the members of our community to weather the storm.

Having good relationships is key when any institution faces unexpected challenges. And we couldn’t have done any of it without your unwavering support and commitment. We needed you, and you came through for us time and time again.

So, it is with gratitude, deep pride, and a full heart that we present our 2020-2021 Annual Report.

This past year we exceeded our KO Annual Fund goal by more than $100,000, saw 159 first-time donors make a gift, and received over $1.7 Million from generous planned gifts that will continue to help the School for many years to come.

With forward-thinking, collaborative, creative, and generous people there’s nothing we can’t do or overcome. By linking arms and standing next to one another, we created positive change together. For that, I am most profoundly grateful.

LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Dear KO Community, I join the Board of Trustees to thank you for your support of Kingswood Oxford School this past year.

Your generosity helped to close the gap between our tuition and what it takes to provide the excellent education we offer.

I would like to congratulate Head of School Tom Dillow, our teachers, staff and coaches for the fantastic job they did navigating the rough waters of the pandemic.

They managed to open the school in the Fall of 2020 and keep it open through the entire school year. They were creative in their use of inside and outside spaces, technology, and other resources to ensure that students could safely learn on campus. Some of these measures have been adapted for the reality of Fall 2021 when campus was safely opened once again. This work has not been easy and we owe our gratitude to Tom and his team.

The pandemic reinforced the importance of community and connection to others. Whether in the classroom, sports field, extracurricular club or socializing on the Senior Green, the connections made between people while on campus will fuel the memories that last a lifetime. The Kingswood Oxford Board is committed to supporting those connections and to building the community.

As a current or past parent, alum or member of the faculty or staff, you are connected to our Kingswood Oxford community. We hope you will join us on campus for a performance, athletic contest or reunion. Once you are a member of the Kingswood Oxford community, you are always a Wyvern and always welcome!

Members of our Kingswood Oxford community have always shown a commitment to keeping the school in a strong financial position.
