Sr. Marie John Jimenez
YEARBOOK DEDICATION Sr. John A special thank you: for your unending support and efforts; for seeing us through the special happy times and the sad ones; and for always being there with an open ear and open heart. In four years w e've grown and bloomed like the petals you have scattered so lovingly to beautify the home w e call Mt. St. Vincent. Your nurturing has touched us all.
14
Treasure the memories of yesterday yet do not lose sight of tomorrow. For in tomorrow lies more happiness and joy than w e know today.

Sister Doris Smith President Dear Members of the Class of 1985, A yearbook exists to help you to organize your memories. During the years of your Mount Saint Vincent existence, you have collected a number of reasons to consider this time in your life significant. Some of those reasons are hilarious (I am afraid to cite examples!), and some are rather serious and solemn, and most are quite ordinary. All, I am sure, are represented in the pages of the 1985 PARAPET. I hope you can include among those significant happenings occasions which have enhanced both your confidence in your own abilities and your awareness of the gifts of others. I hope that you have learned to accept responsibility for the world in which you live and to recognize that all of us have to help and support one another. Most of all, I hope that you have learned to be joyful, confident that the God who made you will sustain you and guide you in the years ahead. Mount Saint Vincent graduates have a tradition of loyalty and warm affection for their Alma Mater. That means that all of us who will be on the campus after you have left will look forward to seeing you and hearing from you often. W e shall follow your fortunes with interest and we shall take pride in your many successes, big and small. You are a part of this College's history, a part that we shall always cherish. Sincerely,
22

Sports Teams The College of Mount Saint Vincent is proud of the sports teams which provide us with action-packed seasons. The women's basketball team, under the guidance of first year coach, Mary Ann Reilly, improved their game by working together on and off the court. This season was one of rebuilding and the team is hoping to break .500 next season. The 1984-85 men's basketball team, coached by Chuck Mancuso, combined skill and hard work to defeat their opponents. The returning team members have great expectations for next year in Division III. Seniors Anne Dicks and Tom Grogan have added to Mount history by each scoring 1000 points during their college careers. Congratulations, Dolphins, on your accomplishments. Under the direction of Margot Cosmedy, the women's volleyball team compiled an impressive record for the 1984 season, Their dedication was pro ved by their untiring practices and tremendous sportsmanship. The Mount's track team is off to a great start. This new team has proved itself capable of winning local and city-wide meets. CMSV's softball team is growing and expanding constantly. W e have a lot of talent out there! Current ly this team is diligently practicing and winning games.

1985 Dear Susan, Sadly the time has come to say farewell to the Mount. The young girl we left that first September day has grown into a young woman Your care and concern for others has grown with you. How proud we all are of your successful accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. If it be true that attitude determines altitude, you surely will soar to even greater heights. God speed your flight and may your future be filled with health, suc cess and happiness. With all our love always. Your family. Mom & Dad Cathy, Ralph, Dianne, Mike, AnneMarie, & ToniAnn

1985 Parapet Staff This yearbook could not be possible without the help of many special people. O ne such person is Sr. Paula Holdman, our moderator. W e would like to thank her for her guidance and dedica tion to Parapet 1985. The editors would also like to thank our staff for giving their time to help with the production of this book. With your help,"Spectrum" has become a reality. Finally, to the members of C.M .S.V.'s Class of 1985, thank you for your cooperation and support of Parapet '85 functions. More impor tantly, thank you for the memories w e will cherish throughout the years. W e hope that Parapet '85 will serve as a remembrance of our good times together at the "Mount." Congratulations and Best Wishes Always.

Each face that flashes back to mind seems as it was untouched by time. I can't recall quite all the names Each one is precious all the same How strange to think How many friends w ere lost somewhere behind W here are they now? How I miss those companions W ho walked the canyons of the night By my side W here are w e now? Like so many dancers W e live only for the answers in a song But that was long ago W here are w e now?
