WELCOME TO THE CARDIGAN MOUNTAIN SCHOOL COMMUNITY We hope to make your transition to Cardigan and to the Upper Valley as easy as possible. This book has information about everything from what to wear to dinner in the dining hall, to where to put your recycling, how to mail a package, and whom you should contact about your computer problems.

Further, we’re sure you’ll be eager to know how to get to the grocery store or movie theater, where you might find a doctor or dentist (or hair stylist!), and perhaps even how to secure a New Hampshire driver’s license------things like that!

The community here at school is one of the things that makes Cardigan such a great place to live. If you have any questions or need a hand, we are all here to help------just ask!

GUIDE TO CAMPUS LIFE AT CARDIGAN MOUNTAIN SCHOOL Please note that our life on campus includes everyone(!)------whether we reside in a campus residence or in an off-campus abode, we are each an essential member of our residential community, and thus ‘‘campus life’’ applies to us all!

Off-campus residents: You should feel free to use the campus as though you reside on it too! Use the facilities, bring your recycling, walk your dog here, and so on!

Where to park? Among the available options are the Commons lot (on Alumni Drive behind the Cardigan Commons facility), in front of Marrion Athletic Center (there are a handful of spaces there), to the right of the Home Team Entrance at the Wakely Center, on the back side (health center side) of Hinman Hall, or in the lot behind Frieze House (the head of school’s house), which can be accessed via the Stowell House driveway. Note: The handful of spaces to the right of the chapel are reserved for Brewster Hall residents, and the spaces between Brewster and Clark-Morgan are for Clark-Morgan and Brewster Hall residents and admissions visitors.

Your New Address ------We all receive our mail in the photocopier area of the Main Office (located in Hopkins Hall). Go to the top of the half flight of stairs, head through the glass door straight in front of you, and go to your right, heading toward the copy machines; the mailboxes are right there, outside of the Business Office. Your new address if you live on campus (or if you live off campus but you’d like to receive your mail on campus) is as follows: 62 Alumni Drive Canaan, NH 03741 ------The School’s main phone number is 603.523.4321; its main fax number is 603.523.7227; and its Web address is www.cardigan.org.

Mail Procedures Mail and packages are delivered to the School, and the smaller pieces of mail are placed in the faculty mailboxes in the photocopier area (see previous section for location) by Erzi Willems, our receptionist and travel coordinator. (Note: Though students share our mailing address, student mail and packages are handled by Kimmy Wennik, who will make use of the student mailboxes in the lower level of the Commons; among other things, Kimmy manages our school store.) Kimmy will send out a daily email (M---F) toward the end of the day with the names of faculty/staff who have packages ‘‘just in.’’ You can seek out Erzi or Kimmy for package retrieval during appropriate hours.

(There is a package room next to the school store in the Commons. For after-hours pickup, you can ask an administrator for keys to open the room.)

------Stamps are available for faculty to purchase in the business office, which is located within the main office in Hopkins Hall (refer to previous directions for mailboxes).

------If you want to mail a letter, simply affix postage and place it in the ‘‘Outgoing Mail’’ tray near the faculty mailboxes (cubbies), just outside the door to the business office.

------We can send packages through UPS and FedEx as well; see Kimmy Wennik for assistance.

------There is also a post office in Canaan. From Cardigan, if you turn left onto Canaan Street and travel down to the main village (where the blinking yellow light is------about three miles from campus), take a left at that light, heading east on Rte. 4, and look for the U.S. Post Office about ¼ mile on your left, next to Canaan Village Pizza.

Dining Hall for Faculty with Younger Children Sit-down (family-style) dinner (typically Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings) begins at 6:15 p.m. You may find it beneficial to arrive a little bit early to get kids settled with drinks and trips to the salad and hot bars… because (to be quite honest) meals are fairly short. On nights when the dress is coat-and-tie (‘‘dinner dress’’), spouses/partners and their non---Cardigan student children may dress in a casual but neat manner------jeans are discouraged, however.

Buffet Dinner On Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights (as well as for Sunday brunch), the dining hall offers buffet meals. Faculty and their families are welcome to arrive a few minutes early (at about 6:00 p.m. or 10:45 a.m. for brunch) to avoid lines. Dress is casual; the students are simply instructed to be sure they have socks on with their footwear (and to not wear Crocs/flip-flops).

Coffee and Tea after Dinner Every once in a while, after a dinner in the dining hall, there is time spent chatting and sipping coffee and tea in the Peck or Powers rooms (adjacent to the main ‘‘Kenly’’ dining area in the Commons) by any faculty and spouses/partners who wish to join. In the past, someone has simply walked around the dining room during dinner to informally spread the word about meeting up for coffee and tea. (If you didn’t happen to catch wind of it but you see people in there after dinner, please know this is never intended to be an exclusive gathering------simply spontaneous and informal.

So…don’t be bashful! Go on in and join them!)

Campus Facilities Access Cardigan welcomes use of its facilities by faculty members and their families when students are not occupying the various spaces. Please keep in mind the School’s policy that children need to be

supervised by adults in these spaces.

If you have young children and would like to use facilities on campus for your child’s birthday party, make sure you contact the appropriate person ahead of time for availability.

------Humann Theatre: Contact Jeff Good for availability.

------The Haven (our student center in the Commons): Contact John Gordon for availability and instructions for appropriate use.

------Wakely Center lobby and/or Turner Arena tennis courts (spring, summer, fall): Contact Ryan Frost to ask for keys and access.

------Turner Arena Hockey Rink (winter): Contact Ryan Frost to ask for keys and access. He will also be able to tell you about specific hours when families can use the rink during Thanksgiving Recess and Winter Vacation in December.

-----The Johnson---Wakely Fitness Center (workout area) has its own keypad with a specific combination not to be shared with students. When you arrive on campus, any one of us can share with you what that combination is; Ryan Frost will inform us all if/when it needs to be changed again.

------Other Athletic Areas: If you need keys to the boathouse, gymnasium (basketball court), Climbing Cave, or sauna, go to the lock box in Marrion Athletic Center (the building with the basketball court) and sign them out. Ask Ryan Frost (our athletic director) for the combination to the lock (and please do not share this combination with students or members of the public). **Be sure all keys borrowed from the lock box are returned immediately after use.**

The Library Faculty and faculty family members are welcome to borrow library books from Kirk Library (in Stoddard). The library in Canaan is a great resource for faculty and their families too. (See ‘‘Town of Canaan’’ section.)

Trash Pickup Outside of each residential building on campus are hard plastic mini shed-type structures (grayish or cream-colored with green, hinged lids) in which fit a couple of large trash cans. Your personal garbage (non-recyclables) may be placed here, as may the trash of your students from the dorm floor.

During the academic year, the trash is collected virtually daily by our Maintenance Department. On vacations, the pickups are less frequent.

Recycling Cardigan recycles! In classrooms and all about campus (including a few outdoor locations), you will find small blue buckets------or other, larger bins with blue plastic bags------welcoming your recyclables.

Blue bags for your personal residence can be found in a box in the faculty room; take a few home whenever needed! The recycling here is ‘‘zero sort,’’ so glass, cans, plastic, and (unsoiled) paper and cardboard may all be mixed together in the blue bins or bags. A full blue bag may be tied and placed next to the outdoor trash bins for pickup; so, too, may larger (flattened, please!) corrugated cardboard (i.e., you may flatten any midsized or larger boxes and set them next to the bins for recycling pickup as well).

If your preference is to head to the Transfer Station in Canaan, you can acquire a dump sticker from the Town Clerk (her office is next to the gas station in the village) and then head out Rte. 118; just a short distance after the fire station on your right, take a right toward the Canaan Speedway and a quick right again on the Transfer Station road. (Note: The recycling at the Transfer Station is still ‘‘two stream,’’ whereby paper and cardboard get separated from everything else.)

Dogs Cardigan loves dogs! And faculty family dogs can certainly make even the most homesick of boys feel right at home. The School requests, however, that dogs are not simply on the loose during the day. A dog on a leash or securely under voice control is completely welcome to explore with you the natural outdoor surroundings here or swim in the lake. If you are, indeed, a dog owner, kindly pick up after your dog, unless he selects a wooded area off the beaten path where other people are very unlikely to walk/step. Please also be considerate of those community members (students, in particular!) with fears of or allergies to dogs (and other pets!).

Note: Campus dogs must be licensed by the Town of Canaan (visit the Town Clerk with proof of rabies vaccination; the license fee this year is $6.50). Vaccination information for both cats and dogs should be on file with Cardigan’s Business Office.

Gardens A few faculty members on campus have gardens on the corner of Back Bay Road and Prospect Hill.

There is a community shed for tools. Ask Allan Kreuzburg for more information.

Faculty Volleyball and Tennis On a few weeknights during fall and winter (for volleyball) and during fall and spring (for tennis), all off-duty faculty members and their spouses/partners are invited to join in for some friendly competition and exercise during study hall hours. If you are, indeed, off duty but don’t wish to play, you are still welcome to join the group afterward for the occasional post-game snacks and refreshments (the ‘‘debriefing’’ session) hosted by a different faculty member each time. Keep your antennae up for volleyball or tennis signups or announcements in the faculty room or via email.

Cross-Country Skiing When there is enough snow, the trails across the street from the main campus are a great place to cross-country ski. There is a 5K loop, as well as several shorter loops, to ski. The trails are maintained by our cross-country ski coaches for use by the cross-country ski team. Faculty members and their families are welcome to use the trails except on race days. Dog walking and snow shoes are not permitted on those particular trails in winter, as these activities can make a mess of the grooming for skiers. Contact Ryan Frost for more information. (In the past, a trail map has been posted in the faculty room.)

Clancy Rope Tow Check the Plan of the Week to see when the rope tow is open on Clancy. Clancy is a small hill located behind the head of school’s house (‘‘Frieze House’’) and is used for sledding and mellow skiing and snowboarding. (Old gloves with tough leather palms are highly recommended when using the rope tow!)

Fire Alarm Drill Every time the students return to campus from breaks, the School is required to do a live fire-alarm drill. If you have young children, you can try to coordinate your dorm’s drill time with Allan Kreuzburg, our residential life coordinator, so you don’t have to run the drill when they are in bed.

Contact Allan Kreuzburg for more information prior to his conducting the drill.

Fire Alarms Whether the fire alarm in your residence goes off by accident or because of an actual fire, the Canaan Fire Department is required to come. If the alarm goes off by accident, you will need to follow the protocol given so the Fire Department will know the alarm is not an emergency (and therefore there is no need for them to be in as serious a rush to campus, bringing six trucks, etc.). Get in touch with the AOD (administrator-on-duty) at x6000 (or by cell: 603.443.6252), and he will call the Fire Department line at 603.643.2222.

Business Office Jim Fenn is the new director of business operations. Jill Cavalieri is the contact person for health insurance, benefits, and any paycheck questions. Questions about student debit accounts (or your faculty account) can be directed to Sandra Kinne.

Maintenance Requests If you need something fixed where you live, Cardigan has a Maintenance Department to take care of it. On Cardigan’s intranet opening page, there is a tab titled ‘‘Maintenance.’’ You can click on that, and it will take you automatically to the Maintenance home page, at the top of which are instructions for submitting maintenance requests and a direct link to: www.myschoolbuilding.com.

(Or you can simply type the latter into your browser if you don’t have the Cardigan page up on your screen.) Once on the site, the directions are very straightforward. (You will have a place where you can describe the problem, indicate the location and your availability, and so on. The account number is 970957398, and the password------which is requested at the end and which is required before you hit the ‘‘submit’’ button------is ‘‘cougars.’’) For urgent requests that require immediate attention during the workday, contact Steve Muszynski via his cell (802.376.6978), or ask Jim Fenn in the Business Office (x3518) to radio Tim or someone else on the crew. All faculty members will also be alerted to emergency phone numbers they can use for urgent maintenance issues during non--work hours; be sure to post those numbers in a handy place near your phone when you receive them.

Locked Out? The AOD (administrator-on-duty) should be your first ‘‘go-to’’ person; call x6000 (if using a campus phone) or call the AOD cell phone number: 603.443.6252. If you have trouble connecting with the AOD, a few other people may be able to help you out if you are locked out during business hours; try Tim Jennings (Facilities, cell 603.443.0279), Jim Fenn in the Business Office (x3518), Matt Rinkin (x3556), or try calling 970.456.3448.

Telephone/ Cable/ Computer Systems Contact Mike Gray (x3541) or Kolby Curran (x3808) in the Tech Department with questions or for a tutorial in any of these areas.

Television The School will cover the cost of basic cable in your campus residence. Comcast is the cable service used by the School. Speak to Jim Fenn in the Business Office if you have questions about adding to the basic package and how that would work.

School Store Located in the lower level of the Commons, this is a great place for students, faculty, and family members to get school supplies, Cardigan clothing, sundries, and snacks. Cardigan faculty can get items at cost in the store. Classroom books are ordered through the store as well, a process that will be taken care of by your department head. If you need any additional classroom books, you can order them here by filling out a form located in the faculty room or by speaking directly to the store’s manager, Kimmy Wennik. Hours at the store may vary, but Kimmy will keep us informed about them when school begins.

Faculty Room Postings The faculty room (located in Hopkins Hall, across the hall from the main office------so at the top of the half-flight of stairs, make a lefthand ‘‘U-turn’’) is a great place to post information about Cardigan or local community events for everyone to see. You and your spouse/partner should be sure to check the board often so you won’t miss anything.

Dorm Parties If you would like to have a special dinner, movie night, or birthday celebration with your dorm, you can get supplies from Bob Spano in the kitchen with sufficient notice (at least one week). Make sure to sign your dorm out of the dining hall so the Dining Services team will know not to expect those residents for dinner.

Special Days/ Events Run around the Lake This is an all-school event during Transition Week (between the fall and winter sports seasons).

Faculty may either join in the run with the students (note: it’s about 4.9 miles) or will be assigned to various checkpoints throughout the run. Family members should feel welcome to take part in the run as well.

Mountain Day/Ski Holiday During the fall there will be a day when classes are not held and the school community will divide up by grades and climb separate mountains or go on separate hikes. During the winter, there is an All-School Ski Holiday, during which the entire school goes to a ski area for a day of skiing, snowboarding, or tubing. If you plan to take your own children the ski trip, check with John Gordon and/or Kristen Tobin Gordon about driving your own car and about the price of securing ski passes for your children (note: the cost of faculty passes is covered by the School). Finally, it’s important to note that these holidays are a surprise for the boys on campus and are usually announced at breakfast or the night before. Please help to keep them a secret!

Headmaster’s Day During the spring, Headmaster’s Day (also a surprise) is held in lieu of classes. Among other things, the day involves a schoolwide tennis tournament open to players of all ability levels, pickup games in other sports, on-campus carnival-type fun (inflatables, etc.), and lots of carnival-type food. Young faculty children are encouraged to join in the fun as their own school/sports/activities schedules allow.

Sandwich Fair In October, on the Monday following Columbus Day weekend, the entire school goes to a carnival/fair in Sandwich, N.H.------about a 1½-hour drive from campus. This fair has carnival rides and food, crafts, animals, music, and an ox pull, to name just a few things. Further, if you are a baker, photographer, or a crafty person, you can enter your goods/photos/craft pieces in various competitions at the fair. (Seek out Dave Auerbach for more details!) Also note: Faculty children are

welcome to attend. Contact John Gordon and/or Kristen Tobin Gordon about arranging to drive your own car to the fair if your children are joining you. http://www.thesandwichfair.com/

Halloween for Young Faculty Children Each year the faculty children are invited to trick-or-treat together to houses and apartments on campus where certain faculty members have volunteered to provide candy or other treats. The children also usually get together afterward for a pizza dinner and some extra fun. Some families with older children also trick-or-treat on Canaan Street. Look for postings in the faculty room (or pay attention to email) regarding the festivities. In addition, there is a Halloween parade and special lunch in the dining hall for the Cardigan boys. Children who are at home are welcome to come in their costumes. Be aware that some of the boys sometimes wear scary masks (but are generally very good with younger children).

Holiday Dinner/Santa Typically taking place just a few days prior to Winter Vacation, students, faculty, and faculty families if available enjoy a special (formal) holiday meal together in the Commons. (Note:

Spouses/partners and their children do tend to dress up for this event along with the students, as the dinner is a particularly festive occasion.)

Holiday Party for Faculty/Staff Children At some point before Winter Vacation in December, there is a special holiday celebration and skating party for faculty and staff children; it has typically been scheduled on a Sunday afternoon.

Children in grades five or younger receive a gift (book) from ‘‘Santa,’’ who makes a special visit to the party as well!

Morning Break Midmorning on each class day there is a snack break for the Cardigan students. Faculty children are welcome to attend if they happen to be home. Check the Plan of the Week (POW) for times.

Baby/Bridal Showers Various members of the community will host showers for the families on campus who are expecting or for faculty brides-to-be.

Book Club The Book Club is a group that includes all adult female community members. The group was started in an effort to help women on campus get together for fun. There is also a group email list (‘‘bookclub@cardigan.org’’) that can be used for other types of (female-related) communications as well.

Spouse/Partner Involvement: While spouses/partners not employed by the School may feel they have no ‘‘official’’ role at Cardigan, serving as ambassadors to our students’ families (this applies especially to those adults living with students in the dorms) can be a vital way of reassuring boys that they have real ‘‘family’’ here and that this is truly a community. Further, it is likely that the more involvement you have with the boys and the School, the more rewarding your own experience of living here will be. Getting to know the boys in your dorm------and periodically going to the dining hall and to schoolwide events------is a great way to start.

(ABRIDGED) GUIDE TO LIFE IN THE UPPER VALLEY Please note when the names of towns appear in these lists, you can assume they are in New Hampshire unless otherwise indicated.

Town of Canaan For directions to the places listed below, begin with this set of directions: Head left out the School’s main entrance by the chapel (i.e., Brewster and the chapel would be on your right, and you would head left/west on Back Bay Road). At the stop sign at the bottom of the hill that brings you to Pearson House (red), take a left onto Prospect Hill Road; then, at the junction of Prospect Hill and Canaan Street (facing the cemetery), take a left onto Canaan Street. Follow Canaan Street all the way to the end------to the blinking yellow light in the ‘‘Village’’ (the junction of Canaan Street and Rte. 4, which is about three miles from campus).

1. Town Clerk: Turn right------town offices are almost immediately on the right next to the gas station. 603.523.7106.

2. Library: Library is on the right at the corner of the aforementioned junction of Rte. 4 and Canaan St. Per some of our faculty members, Amy Thurber at the town library is a great resource.

3. Canaan Hardware: Go left, staying on Rte. 4------store will be on the left.

4. Post Office: Go left, staying on Rte. 4------Post Office is on your left just after the curve.

5. Canaan Village Pizza: Go left, staying on Rte. 4------pizza place is on your left near Post Office and across from town playground. 603.523.4314.

6. Mascoma Savings Bank: Go right------the bank is just past the Citgo gas station and convenience store on your right.

7. Papa Z’s: For pizza, a deli, some groceries, sundries, and sandwiches. Turn left, and almost immediately left again to get onto Rte. 118, heading toward Mount Cardigan (Cardigan State Park). Store will be just past the fire station on your right. There is gas sold there as well. 603.523.9011.

8. Transfer Station: See directions to Papa Z’s above; go past Papa Z’s, and entrance to Transfer Station will soon be on your right. (There should be signs for it, as well as for Cardigan State Park.) 603.523.7952.

9. Mount Cardigan (yes, the mountain itself): Follow directions to the Transfer Station and continue past its specific entrance up the road, which winds its way upward for several minutes (a few miles?). You will come to a place where you can park your car and have a

picnic------Cardigan State Park------and you can proceed up the mountain on foot from the trail heads at that point.

10. Golden Ming: Across Rte. 4 near the blinking light. Reviews from CMS folks have been pretty favorable. 603.523.7979.

11. Dishin’ It Out: A local breakfast place just a few doors down from Golden Ming (to the left). 603.523.9500.

Outside Canaan All directions for the following places are off of I-89 North unless otherwise noted. (To get to I-89, take a right on Roberts Road near the public beach on Canaan Street; at the end, take a right on Rte. 4, traveling west for about 9.5 miles.)

Grocery Stores 1. Shaws: West Lebanon. Take right off exit 20------take right at first light.

2. Hannaford: West Lebanon. Right off of exit 20; about a quarter mile on your left.

3. Price Chopper: West Lebanon. Left off exit 20; situated in Wal-Mart Plaza (about 1/3 mile down the strip on the left).

4. Lebanon Cooperative Grocery Store: Lebanon. Take right off exit 18 toward Hanover.

Store is in Centerra Plaza on your right at third light. Organic foods and basic grocery too.

5. Price Chopper: Lebanon. Bear right off exit 19; you will see it on the right near movie theater on Miracle Mile (maybe about 1/3 mile from the exit ramp).

6. Hannaford: Plymouth (mileage is about the same as to West Lebanon; the driving time is only a few minutes longer, and it is less congested than West Lebanon). Go down into Canaan Village (to blinking yellow light). Take a left onto Rte. 4 and then almost immediately another left onto Rte. 118 (beware of moose on this road), following this several miles to the end. Go right on Rte. 25. Go around rotary. Store will be on your right at a stoplight.

7. Super Wal-Mart: Plymouth. Similar to Hannaford (above), follow Rte. 118 (beware of moose) all the way to Rte. 25; take a right on Rte. 25. Super Wal-Mart will be on the right.

8. BJ’s: West Lebanon. Left off of exit 20; about 1/3 mile down on the right. Worth the membership fee if you like buying in bulk.

Bookstores 1. Books-a-Million (B.A.M.): West Lebanon. Take a left off exit 20. Take left into WalMart Plaza; B.A.M. is on your right near Price Chopper.

2. Dartmouth Bookstore: On Main Street in downtown Hanover. They honor Barnes and Noble gift certificates.

Department Stores/ Multi-Purpose Stores (This is a list of some of the larger stores that are located off exit 20 in West Lebanon. There are also many other smaller stores that service many needs, and see the Grocery Store section for directions to the Super Wal-Mart in Plymouth.)

Automotive Needs N.H. Driver’s Licensing N.H. Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). 603.271.2372 (or 2371)

License Requirements: To get a driver’s license, go to the N.H. DMV. There is no need to take a test if you already have a valid out-of-state driver’s license. The closest DMV is in Claremont, New Hampshire.

The central one is in Concord (New Hampshire’s state capital, about an hour south of Canaan), which is not much farther (and the phone number above gets you to that central office).

In either case, you will need the following items (all four things needed): 1. Valid out-of-state license.

2. Proof of residency (N.H. car registration works).

3. Birth certificate (original certificate is required------NO exceptions).

4. Second ID (one of the following): passport, SS card, military ID, baptism papers, marriage certificate.

Car Registration You can now do this online! Go to http://www.townofcanaannh.us/, OR go to the town clerk in Canaan (603.523.7106). From Cardigan, go to blinking yellow light in Canaan.

Take right, and town clerk will be immediately on your right (between Canaan Library and gas station). You will need proof of residence (car insurance not required in N.H.). The hours are 9:00---12:00 M---F and 1:00---4:00 on Mon., Weds., and Fri.; on Weds. also open 6:00---8:00 p.m. Call to double-check the hours. Once you get your car registered, you have 30 days to get the car inspected (see below).

Car Repair/Auto Inspections Mike’s Auto: (About a mile from campus.) At junction of Prospect Hill and Canaan St., go

right. (Or take the short cut: The dirt road called Fox Hill, between Ovilla and Pearson House merges into that part of Canaan St.) Follow Canaan St. down the hill past Switch Road (on your left) and over the little bridge. Outdoor Activities The Upper Valley is a great place for outdoor activities of all kinds.

------For starters, you can walk ‘‘The Point’’ right here on Cardigan’s campus (bring your dog!), beginning either on the end by our boathouse or on the end by Greenwood/Banks/Franklin houses.

------Take advantage of Canaan Street Lake right here at our fingertips! The water is generally warmest in August and September. The kayaks and canoes are for all to share (unless marked somehow as being personally owned). The keys to the boathouse (to find oars/paddles/seat cushions/life jackets) are in the lockbox in Marrion Athletic Center (ask Ryan Frost for the

combination). Please remember how important adult supervision is with all of the campus facilities, and particularly in or near the water.

------Take advantage of our extensive mountain biking trails up across from the trap-shooting range. At the stop sign at the junction of Back Bay Road and Prospect Hill Road, take a right up Prospect and go for about a half-mile or so. You will see Cardigan’s leach fields on the left (incredible views open up there), and that is where the trails begin.

------Or spend a couple of hours hiking Mount Cardigan (bearing in mind that all new faculty members are scheduled to do so with new students in the wee hours of a September morning to watch the sun rise). This is ‘‘big bang for the buck,’’ as it is only about an hour up and 45 minutes down------with panoramic views that extend for miles and miles as your reward at the top.
