REPORT 2025

Advocacy Serving Equipping Community

Bringing the hope and healing of Christ to the world

United by our Christian faith and a shared commitment to healthcare, Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) stands as a vibrant movement of Christ-followers in healthcare dedicated to seeing lives transformed, influencing our profession and advancing the hope of Christ in every corner of the world. Together, we embody the calling to serve with excellence, compassion and conviction, bearing witness to God’s love at the heart of healthcare.

It is truly inspiring to witness how God is working through this community of Christian healthcare professionals, encouraging and supporting one another as they face challenging ethical, moral and cultural questions. As we celebrate 94 years in ministry, we continue to build the C-A-S-E for CMDA with 40+ ministries in the arenas of Community, Advocacy, Service and Equipping, and we depend upon guidance from the Holy Spirit as well as His power for accomplishing His purposes.

On the following pages, you will discover how your CMDA community is living out our mission to educate, encourage and equip Christian healthcare professionals to glorify God. We are inspired by countless stories about the numerous ways individuals are mentoring the next generation of Christian healthcare professionals, serving with excellence and compassion, caring for all people and advocating for biblical principles that shape healthcare both within the church and throughout the world. Together, we are part of a movement that brings hope and healing, guided by faith and unwavering dedication.

This Annual Report reflects the countless ways God’s favor has touched CMDA. Guided by His hand, we saw remarkable progress and deep spiritual renewal, and your involvement had a genuine impact on the lives within our community.

...God allowed me the privilege of praying over three pregnant patients who I saw. Two of them were in tears afterwerd and said they were so grateful and shocked that a doctor would take the time to pray with them. I then had a chance to share that I was just a doctor, but ultimately Jesus, the Great Physician, is the one who all of us need. I find now more than ever lessons I’ve learned from CMDA are helping me care for my patients as Christ wants me to...

“Being part of CMDA has reminded me that I’m not alone in this journey— both academically and spiritually. It’s also encouraging to see so many other believers on campus navigating the same challenges, grounded in the same faith.”

“CMDA has been a refuge to have intimate fellowship with God and fellow believers during the hardships of medical school.”

OUR CORE PRIORITIES

Beginning of Life

We believe that life begins at fertilization and an unborn child deserves all the rights set forth in the Constitution, including the right to life.

End of Life

We believe the role of the physician is to affirm life, to relieve suffering and pain, and to give compassionate, competent care as long as the patient lives.

Gender Issues

We strive to protect minors struggling with gender dysphoria by helping to enact legislation that prohibits healthcare professionals from performing gender transition procedures on minors.

Conscience Freedoms

We affirm that Christian healthcare professionals should encourage colleagues, institutions and governments to respect conscience freedoms and to establish and defend policies that accommodate and protect clinicians who exercise them.

SERVICE MINISTRIES

“...We treated 965 patients, issued over 400 prescriptions, handed out 514 pairs of glasses and provided dental care to more than 80 individuals. 51 individuals came to know Christ that week...This trip reminded me why I chose medicine—to meet people where they are, to listen and to help however I can...”

“...I have a better grasp of God’s love, hope in the medical field, new friendships, a stronger faith and much much more. The Lord is lovely and faithful and He is on the move...”

... Dr. Jim Smith and I spent the day teaching topics from the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course. We taught about the initial management of severely injured patients. And it just so happened, the very next day a severely injured patient had to be transferred from another island to the hospital we were at...

God was able to use this very unfortunate event to help us train and encourage the local medical team on the ATLS approach in this situation. This turned out to be an extremely helpful and practical teaching experience. It also gave us credibility as medical teachers and, more importantly, credibility to teach on topics of faith...

EQUIPPING MINISTRIES CONTINUED

-CMDA Lifetime Member Eric Stader, MD

This was my first time to attend the CMDA National Convention. I have long wanted to come but have had limited opportunity to do so. For many years I have been involved in the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians and, through the course of leadership positions there, have attended the AAFP Congress of Delegates the last several years. The main stage and audience for that event is similar in size to the CMDA National Convention. The stage management, transitions, video quality, speaker quality and overall presentation at the CMDA National Convention was every bit as good and better than what I see at AAFP meetings, despite the fact they have a bigger budget and membership by an order of magnitude. All that to say; very well done. My WAFP/AAFP commitments have faded, and I am looking forward to much more engagement with CMDA. It is a high-quality organization with capable leaders and staff, plus clear focus of mission and purpose. I am signed up for next year and will work with others to serve with CMDA in the meantime.

“It’s the best of both worlds: the worship for my faith and the science for providing the best care for my patients.”

“This was the best convention I’ve attended. I came with my employer and was overwhelmed with how friendly everyone was. This does not happen at other work conventions I attend. My favorite part was without a doubt the worship. Having group worship is just the best, and I wish it could be at every convention I attend.”

“This was my first CMDA National Convention and it was an unforgettable experience! Connecting with like-minded individuals who share my passions and goals was truly inspiring. I effortlessly made meaningful connections, and the breakout and plenary sessions, as well as the worship sessions, were phenomenal. The games night, worship night with students and residents and the specialty dinners were highlights, especially meeting renowned doctors in medicine. I’m also grateful for the registration scholarship, which made attendance possible. I’m already counting down to next year’s event!”

ANNUAL FUND GOAL $3,893,440

With great enthusiasm, CMDA announced an ambitious annual fund goal of $3,893,440 for Fiscal Year 2026 (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026).

Reaching this goal will empower CMDA to educate, encourage and equip Christian healthcare professionals to honor God through their calling in healthcare.

The generous contributions from supporters make it possible for CMDA to continue its vital presence on healthcare campuses, engage in global missions and serve as advocates on important ethical and bioethical issues at both state and federal levels.

Without strong support for the Annual Fund, the work of your CMDA would not have the impact we all desire of seeing lives transformed for Christ.
