At Saint Columbkille Partnership School, we take pride in Catholic education. We work with our whole community to foster a joy of learning. As our mission states, our students and teachers “search for the truth with joy.” We embody and instill that desire in all of our students, from the youngest almost-three-yearolds to our almost-alumni eighth graders. Our students' joy in learning renews and inspires us all. We are blessed with a supportive and joyful community. Our faculty and staff share a joy of learning with our students each day, and parents joyfully contribute to our warm and welcoming school community. Donors give their financial support to the school for necessary programs and financial aid, and alumni gather to share their joyful memories at our school. Each of you is an important part of the Saint Columbkille community. We appreciate your support this past year and beyond as we nurture our students and grow their joy of learning.

NEWLY RENOVATED LOBBY OPENED IN HONOR OF PETER & HONEY MCLAUGHLIN For the start of the 2023-2024 school year, a generous donation from their son, Stephen McLaughlin, allowed for the renovation of the school’s lobby. It was dedicated to and named the Peter and Honey McLaughlin Welcome Center. The space is open and bright and provides a welcoming environment for all who enter Saint Columbkille. Additionally, hallways surrounding the lobby were painted and student bathrooms were upgraded near the main entrance of the school.

THE JOY OF LEGACY: SAINT COLS CELEBRATES LARGEST SINGLE ALUMNI DONATION IN MEMORY OF 1936 GRADUATE Mildred “Millie” O’Brien Tudor was born in Brighton in 1918 and graduated from Saint Columbkille in the school’s first co-ed high school class in 1936. Her faith was very important to her and she credited her strong faith to the education she received at Saint Columbkille. Millie passed away in the summer of 2020 and gave everything to her only living child, Kathleen (Kathy) Tudor, who passed away in January 2022. In her will, Kathy generously bequeathed $765,000 to the Peter McLaughlin Endowment Fund for Financial Aid at Saint Columbkille in memory of her mother. Not a woman of means, Millie had previously donated a total of $550 to the school. Kathy’s kind donation will provide financial support to Saint Columbkille students for many years to come.

BC VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: 4BOSTON
Each year, more than 30 BC undergraduate students volunteer at STCPS through the BC Campus Ministry 4Boston organization. Four days each week, 4Boston volunteers support teachers in the after-school program and study hall by acting as mentors and assisting students with homework. In a very meaningful way they embody the “partner” in our BC partnership. Three pillars guide the work of 4Boston: Community, Spirituality, and Social Justice, which align perfectly with the STCPS mission. 4Boston helps model the joy of spiritual formation and community with our students.

13TH ANNUAL BC RACE TO EDUCATE RAISED $158,000 More than 930 participants joined us for the BC Race to Educate on the Boston College campus on April 29, 2023. The event raised $158,000 to support programs and services ensuring that all students at Saint Columbkille receive a high-quality Catholic education. The 2023 event included participants from 10 local high schools, 144 fundraising teams, 55 sponsors and 712 donations to support Saint Columbkille.

ATHLETICS AT SAINT COLUMBKILLE FOSTERS A JOY OF MOVEMENT STCPS welcomed a full athletics program for students in kindergarten (K2) to Grade 8 for fall, winter and spring. Sports provide an opportunity for movement, collaboration and teamwork, as well as fostering a joy of movement and overall wellness. In the 2022-2023 school year, 103 students participated in soccer, 37 played tennis, 6 ran cross country, and 101 joined a basketball team.
