Saint Cols Community Gathers to Celebrate Veterans Day
Parents, teachers and staff, students and alumni gathered for a Veterans Day ceremony to honor the school’s current military members and veterans for their service to our country.
The ceremony honored Vietnam veteran and Class of 1962 alumnus James Coffey, who recently reunited with his Army unit after more than 50 years apart. Active and retired military whose children attend Saint Cols also participated in raising the flag, their children shared poems and welcomed services members from each branch of the military, and Saint Cols leadership spoke.
Students raised $750 for Brighton Marine, a local nonprofit that helps veterans and their families, and wrote letters to active and retired military service members that were delivered to local Boston VA hospitals.
