Dear Friend of Brookstone, In 2021, the Board of Trustees approved a landmark strategic plan and campus master plan to guide Brookstone into its future. Resulting from this strategic plan, Brookstone is embarking an ambitious campaign. The Be The One Campaign will solidify our school’s future. Having successfully completed Phase One of this historic venture, we are moving forward into Phase Two, the construction of a world-class lower school building. I feel privileged to have this opportunity to give back to Brookstone. For me, Brookstone was a seminal life experience. I arrived on campus in 1994 and left transformed because of the investment of teachers, mentors, and friends I encountered during my time as a student. Graduating from Brookstone School prepared me well for college. It also provided values that have successfully guided me through my career and friendships that have lasted a lifetime. When you walk onto campus and see the buildings, you see sacrifices of people who came before us. Brookstone is fortunate to have a beautiful campus, worldclass teachers, and bright students. The Be The One Campaign will make it possible for future young men and women to learn from the very best teachers in the very best possible learning environment. It is my great honor to request your support for this campaign and ask that you consider making a sacrificial gift to Brookstone. Your participation is crucial as well as your encouragement of others to do the same. Founded in 1951, Brookstone School is Columbus' only 3K through 12 independent college preparatory program. With an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, Brookstone offers a first-rate college preparatory experience to more than 820 students in four divisions. Brookstone’s core values – loyalty, courage, wisdom, honor, service, respect, and leadership – guide the educational program and daily interactions among students and adults. With a highly developed and intentional focus on servant leadership and character development, Brookstone prepares its students for lives of engagement and service to others.
Why a new Lower School….why now? The Lower School years are full of discovery. Early adolescence is an important time to try new things, to cultivate leadership skills, and become confident learners. At this age, Brookstone students open up to the world around them, explore a wide variety of extracurricular interest, and form close relationships with teachers and peers. They take every opportunity to challenge themselves academically so that they can go on to contribute as much as possible in the upper grades, strengthening all of Brookstone School. Brookstone's current Lower School was built in the early 1970's and has served us well. The time has come to create a space for our children that is adaptable to the very best teaching and learning styles of today and tomorrow, provides the most innovative technology, demonstrates how much we care about our children through safety, and contributes to transforming our student's future and lives. This is for our children. The time is now.

It will be reimagined to enhance teachers’ and children's ability to collaborate and learn, playing an integral part to the exceptional education and meaningful life-preparation that Brookstone provides. TECHNOLOGY - innovative process Students today are growing up in a fast-paced, technology-driven world. Children learn more effectively and efficiently when the tools of technology are incorporated into their lessons. The new Lower School will offer robust systems that support every aspect of instruction. SAFETY- people matter The safety of our employees, students, families, and visitors is a priority for Brookstone. Our new Lower School is designed with a central entrance and controlled access that ensures all students are safe and secure and able to focus on learning. THEIR FUTURE - endless opportunities Our world is in constant motion with changing expectations, shifting norms, and advancing technology. We are preparing our students for a future of challenges we can’t see today.
