The Grubsta k er Club was organized in th e fa ll of 1902, th e id ea being the es tabli shm ent of an ea tin g club. According to th e pe titi on of the Grub s tak ers to the T ri angle, it was th e first social organ iza ti o n o n th e cam pus . It continued as an eat ing club unti l 1920, w hen a house was leased a nd t he clu b inco r porated by the Sta t e of M isso uri. It was then co ndu cted a lo ng t h e lin es of a fr atern it y.
