Yellow Textured tiles are placed in the bathroom to create positive associations with bathing. Textured tiles are chosen to provide a sensory stimulation in order to occupy their mind while bathing.

Grab Bars are installed in all areas to offer support for older users. A shower Bench is installed to allow the elderly to bathe in comfort and in safety. A bathroom niche is placed next to it for easier reach for bathing necessities. Also, since most of the elderlies.

Recently, life has become much harder; the nonstop grind has been part of the daily living of most Filipinos. The sound of the alarm upon waking up, loud car horns, and never-ending deadlines bear much strain. One’s living space plays a vital role in helping oneself. Thus, a bathroom plays a crucial role in invigorating, rejuvenating, and connecting the users of a living space.

The concept revolves around doing multiple tasks with multiple users, even with limited space. This also aims to allow users the experience of identification and belonging to one’s territory, thus having a positive influence on the cognitive health of people. This design not only helps prepare and rejuvenate but also helps foster a family atmosphere of belonging and support.

The main priority of the design is to create a space that integrates and not segregates different generations in the same space. The idea is to create a space where it is playful, productive, and yet relaxing while still considering the security of the users.

The space is divided into two zones; the wet and dry zones. The damp zone is divided into two areas; bathing and toilet areas. Lastly, since the project is situated in a high-mass housing, integrating space-efficient approaches is a must.

For space efficiency, laundering, Drying, and even Steam ironing were included in the dry zone. The zones/areas are partitioned with accordion/sliding door panels with frosted glass panels to have a continuity of vision while maintaining privacy. Moreover, storage spaces are also considered through shelves, cabinetries, and niche spaces so that each user would have a place to store their belongings.

Each user is highly considered in the space in order for them to have a sense of place. Being included affects one’s well-being, thus increasing their sense of self. Security, Productivity, and Tranquility are the primary considerations. Grab bars and shower bench are installed in order to accommodate the needs of the elderly. A pull-out foothold is installed under the lavatory for younger kids. A high-quality product that ensures the longevity of each fixture, as well as an assurance of safety and ease of maintenance, is certain to calm the frantic minds of the adults in the space who are responsible for the space’s operation and finances.

Since a bathroom is where we all relax and sometimes contemplate, it must evoke a sense of cleanliness and comfort. This is achieved through wood elements, white, and gray tones on the finishes and furnishings. Floor tiles are non-skid to reduce accidents. Also, a yellow tile with different textures are also used to evoke a sense of fun and excitement add contrast towards the design. Moreover, plants in the bathroom can also add a sense of calmness and relaxation and also lessens the humidity
