It’s the First Sign of Spring as Cloud Production’s Ever so Popular “Springtime in Ohio” Craft Show Returns to the Hancock County Fairgrounds for the 34th Year May 7th & 8th It’s that time of year again and we are hopeful for a sunshine filled Mother’s Day weekend at the 34th Annual Springtime in Ohio on May 7th and 8th. We love planning for this show to kick off spring in Findlay in Hancock County and we know thousands look forward to attending. Our vendors and customers have been posting like crazy on social media marking their calendars for a fun filled weekend and we are just as excited and committed to promoting this show.

Over the years Cloud Productions has always strived to make our shows family friendly not only with vendor offerings but also entertainment. Again this year we will have our barbershop quartet strolling through the show singing to passerbys and you will hear Mark Nightengale at the gazebo playing his trombone throughout the weekend. This year we are excited to also have Romick Parkway at the show Saturday and Sunday weather permitting with their fire truck train giving rides for $3.00 per person and adults are welcome to ride as well.

The Enter to Win booth will be in building I, this year.

Cloud Productions will be having Esther’s Wheel of Fun spinning in the booth along with a new game of PLINKO. Give a donation to spin the wheel and win a prize!

All donations will be going to the Cloud Productions

Scholarship for Findlay High School student pursuing a career in the arts.

Additionally, all of our vendors who advertised in this edition of the Show News will receive 25 contest entries (giving out 15 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday) to hand out to their customers who make a purchase in their booth. See page 8 for more details.

In Loving Memory of my husband, Dean Mengert, who passed away on December 13, 2020. Many who knew Dean knew, he was my rock and for so many years he helped with the Cloud Productions shows and bought a lot, too. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t feel his presence or something that I see brings good memories. He is missed in so many ways by anyone who met him.

Dean was bigger than life and I miss him dearly.

Don Snyder and Sandy Overholt of Dragonfly Pottery take pride in their award winning original hand-thrown pottery. The beautiful pieces that are made in the Dragonfly studio are completely handmade. They make their own colorful glazes, they even make their own clay, over 550 pounds made in one day! Don and Sandy start exhibiting in the spring and don’t stop until December! During the winter months they are very busy in the studio making new pieces. Look for Don & Sandy at Springtime in Ohio, Building FA Booth 1 & 2.

Baby Boutique Debra Gray’s specialty is handmade and crocheted boutique style baby & children items, lovingly created with a passion for perfection.

She designs crocheted hats and accessories, as well as handcrafted hair accessories specializing in custom orders. Many of her items are one of a kind and will

not be duplicated.

Boutique children’s clothing can also include machine embroidered personalization. She also creates hanging wall embroidery décor, children’s clothing, infant tag blankets and matching baby blocks. This talented lady Debra can be located in Building B, booth 2.

Shabby Chic signage never goes out of style and the wording choices to represent your family and feelings just keep getting better. Amanda Magers, owner of Portage Wilds loves to repurpose old doors because there is a story with each scratch, nick or imperfection making for a beautiful piece of art. So if you are looking for a new accessory piece for a wall in your kitchen, on your porch or in your living room be sure to stop by Building A Booth 43 and see what might be a perfect addition to your home.

Goats are for more than Yoga McKee Farms is a small family farm outside of Mount Cory. They produce goat milk products that help with eczema. Their products include goat milk body butter, soap, lip balm, deodorant, liquid soap, and sudsing milk bath. They offer locally grown products such as farm fresh eggs, local farmed honey and dairy goat shares. Make sure you look for Bradley McKee in Building B, Booth 18 to check out their local products.

Beautiful Bakes What started out as a hobby for Jessica Bash is now her very own business. She specializes in gourmet cookies and scotchcharoos! Other items include cake pops, hot cocoa bombs, chocolates and pies. Jessica saw a FB post where she was asking her fans ‘what kind of baked goods do you like to buy at craft shows’ and referring the Springtime in Ohio craft show as the Big One! She is anxious to see what else she is doing and you will find out too by going to Building I, booth 12!

She creates hoop wreaths, greenery wreaths, tulle wreaths, as well as fabric wreaths. Her creativity with color and design are above and beyond. She has a 5-star rating on Etsy which is very impressive.

We are excited to have John Kwiatkowski owner of White Street Wood is joining Springtime in Ohio this year with a unique talent. John joins the new with the old. Salvaging antique Post Office box doors and recycled hardwood turning them in to coin banks and lamps all handcrafted in Michigan. John has a life long passion, working with new creations with his hands and it truly show. He will be located Building I, Booth 14 so be sure to stop by and check out his work. It would be the perfect gift for the hard to buy for family or friend. Perfect vintage piece to save your change!

Last year Whisky Creek Woodworking joined our shows and we are excited to say they are back for the Springtime in Ohio show in building FA booth 29. Justin Donat is from Findlay and has a passion for woodworking and officially started his business in 2020 sharing his talent with the support of his wife Kelly. Quality is top priority whether it is a small or large item , Justin puts his whole heart in every piece he creates. This booth offers quality handcrafted items such as cooler stands, barn-style closet doors, pet bowl stands, cutting bards and more. So be sure to stop by and pick up a piece for your patio this summer! There is a lot to choose from.

Handmade clay earrings ranging from 3 tiered to studs. There are some with metal accents, as well as beaded accents and wood pieces. Kimberly has earrings with vibrant colors and some neutrals. There are so many styles and colors to choose from and something to dress up or down any outfit. She loves working with customers to select a pair for an outfit, special occasion or a gift. If LooksFool Ya! Heather’s mood determines what type of food or drink that she will design into a wonderful smelling candle.

Growing up in Pennsylvania in a candle making family, she always wanted to expand the family business. So two years ago she had some extra time on her hands and here they are now owners of Flickers West Candles. The design of the candle that she creates depending on the mood that she is in! Her parent’s made candles for 25 years and she is following in their footsteps. Stop by Heather Parker in Building C/D booths 15 & 16 and remember that they are candles and smell amazing!

Roger’s Honey Roger and Marlene Miller offer a wide variety of products made from raw honey. You can find flavored creamed honey, jams made with honey, honey stixs and even honey candy. They even offer natural skin products including skin cream, cuticle cream and lip balms.

Make sure to stop by Building C/D in booth 26 and 27 to check out the gift bags, baskets and other gift items they will also have made up which will make great Mother’s day gifts!

Angie’s Bling, Bling Garden More Thyme Angie’s Garden Thyme business started as a hobby in 2014 because she wanted to sell her extra produce at a local farmers market. She made some raspberry jam with her berries and that’s when her Jam business took off. She experiments with new flavors and now makes over 70 fruit and pepper jams and over 20 hot & mild mustards. Angie’s jams are great for breakfast but can also be used on a favorite sandwich, on charcuterie boards, as ice cream toppings and more. The mustards are a must for the grilling season. Look for Angie of Garden Thyme in Building B booth 23 to check out her jams and mustards.

Judy has 2 kids who graduated Findlay High School and knows the importance of supporting our future young adults. This year Cloud Productions is doing something new! We will be offering a $200 scholarship to a Findlay City School art industry student pursuing a career by going to an institute of higher education learning (i.e. university/college, junior college, trade school or a technical school) or have future plans to participate in craft shows. We are sad to share the owner, Scott McRill of Scotty’s Subs which has been a long time food vendor passed away on April 24, 2022 at the age of 75. Besides being known for always being at all of Cloud Productions shows for the last decade plus many fair goers knew that brown and orange food trailer would pop up at many fairs in the area so they could get a signature sub from Scotty.

We love our newbie food trucks and those who have joined us over the last few so we to give a shout out to all of you as well! The additions of BBQ, bubble tea, infused teas and lemonades, tacos and bourbon chicken.

FAMILY UPDATE Life has been busy and crazy as ever over the last year with a lot of adjustments still taking place after the loss of my Dean before Christmas 2020. My mom Laney has been getting out and about more on the east coast.

She has had a few little medical hiccups but with the support of her family is doing well. I got to spend the holidays with her last year, which was fun and much needed to not only see my mom but my sisters and family as well.

Dani, Cliff and the grandkids are doing great and have made the big move to Tennessee, yes that is what I said Tennessee! The grandkids Kenzie and Maddi are hitting it out of the ballpark with their travel softball teams and Max is in training to be a slugger too! I got to spend some time with all of them over Christmas and New Years and I have to say Nashville is a happening place with great hospitality and of course spectacular music. I can’t wait to get back down there for some more family fun, shopping and entertainment.

With the spring show in full mode I think of my Deaner and all the things he did to help make Springtime in Ohio and all the Cloud Production shows memorable.

I appreciate when vendors call for booth space and take the time to talk about Dean and the way he helped them out. I will say his number one priority was quality control with the food vendors - lol. I think he would put on 5 pounds over the weekend making sure everyone had good offerings to share with the public. One of his newer favorites before he passed was AJ’s BBQ…oh how he loved that brisket. When we couldn’t find him he was usually visiting all the vendors checking out all the new foods and products and telling everyone to go try this or go look at that. Then he would bring back a great find to add to our eclectic collection of yard art!

Craft Corner These pieces are done from scratch to finish with a lot of love in between. Dorothy St. Meyer Waggoner is what I might say, a very talented ceramic artist and perfectionist. Dorothy has a wonderful set up where she pours the molds, fires, cleans and paints. She does all seasons, some sports, gnomes and more. Each piece is hand painted and can take 3 days to complete, some light up and many days she waits 10 hours a day. Dorothy is located in Building I booth 2...plan to add Dorothy on your list.

Ken and Jillian are all settled in their new home down in the Dayton area. The fur grand kids have visited a few times during Jillian’s pregnancy since Edison is now mobile and on the move and she was having some pregnancy concerns that required her to get plenty of rest. All went well and they welcomed gentleman #2 Harrison in March and was a strong and healthy little premie. Edison is an active little boy and I got to Page 16

Juhi makes screen and hand block print wall tapestries, bedcovers, quilts, curtains, table covers & mat sets, along with pouches and bags by using vintage wooden blocks and using different techniques like kantha stitch, hand embroidery, appliquéd cutwork.She also makes handmade, hand carved, hand stitched vintage leather journals, apron, sling bags, duffle bags and so much more. Juhi Lodha is very talented and does all of this with being a wife and a mother of a two year old son. Look to meet Juhi in Building FA Booth 21 at Springtime in Ohio.

A craft show that has been dazzling Flag City U.S.A., Findlay, Ohio for well over a decade will be celebrating its 35th year of “Christmas In October “ craft show at the Hancock County Fairgrounds Saturday, October 1st from 10am to 5pm and Sunday , October 2nd from 11am to 4pm always rain or shine.

“Christmas in October” originally known as the Old Mill Stream Craft Show in 1988 opened its gates to the public October 15th for a one day show that caused a holiday shopping frenzy. One hundred and forty exhibitors filled 4 buildings and several outdoor locations on the fairgrounds. Fast forward to 2022 and Cloud Productions is stilling going strong and bigger than ever with 9 buildings, outdoor spaces and the best food concessions ever!
