The work of Van Gogh and Bunzlau Castle fit well together; the craftsmanship, artistry and inspiration that both Van Gogh and Bunzlau Castle draw from nature are ingredients for this beautiful, authentic collection.

The Bunzlau Castle x Van Gogh Museum ceramic collection consists of four decors that recur on all of Bunzlau Castle’s bestsellers. The textile series features kitchen and tea towels in two different designs. These are based on Van Gogh’s drawings of his well-known paintings of the vase with sunflowers and the almond blossom. Now that you know exactly how to create your perfect table styling, only one thing is still missing: great company. After all, the setting is only complete when you can socialise with family and friends to enjoy delicious food and make conscious time for each other.

Loving biscuits

These loving biscuits are a hit. They are made in no time at all, and are also fun to make with the (grand)children. Enjoy kneading together, cutting out biscuits and sneaking a bite of the dough.

Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, less sugar.... Whatever you call it. They are delicious biscuits with a nutty flavour.

This is how you make it:

• Take a bowl and in it, beat the butter and coconut blossom sugar until fluffy. This will take about 1 minute. Add the vanilla extract and mix again fleetingly.

• Mix the almond flour with a pinch of salt into the butter mixture to form a crumbly dough. Knead the dough into a ball with your hands and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.

• Take the dough out of the fridge and place it between 2 sheets of baking paper.

• Roll it out to a thickness of about ½ cm. The thinner the dough the crunchier your biscuits will be.

• Cut out the biscuits and carefully move them with a knife to a baking tray lined with baking paper.

• Bake for about 10 minutes in the oven at 180°C until golden brown.

• Let the biscuits cool slightly on the warm baking tray and then move them to a rack.

• As a finishing touch, decorate the biscuits with a little icing sugar. Then move the biscuits to a nice plate. Serve the biscuits with a cup of herbal tea.

Ingredients:

• 220 grams almond flour (you can also make this yourself by grinding up white almonds)

• 70 grams of vegetable butter

• 40 grams of coconut blossom sugar

• 2 tsp vanilla extract

• pinch of salt

• possibly a little icing sugar for garnish

Stuffed buns

Do you recognise that? One of those lists of dishes you think “I want to make that sometime”.

I think most cooking enthusiasts have that. My list grows and grows and sometimes I find a moment or opportunity to make something from it. For ages, this dish has been on my wish list!

This is how you make it:

• Cut the top cap off the Italian bulbs and set aside. Pluck the soft inside out of the bulbs. You won’t use this. (You can make croutons from it or crumbs and mix with parmesan cheese as a topping on an oven dish).

• Spread the inside of the buns with a layer of mascarpone and top with a slice of Parma ham. Then top with the arugula, a slice of tomato, marinated tomatoes and finish with some pine nuts. Possibly add some freshly ground pepper and salt to taste.

• Put the caps back on top of the sandwiches and wrap them in cling film. Place them on a plate and put another heavy plate on top. Place in the fridge for a few hours.

• Remove the buns from the fridge and they are ready to serve.

Ingredients for 4 people:

• 4 Italian bulbs mascarpone

• 4 slices Parma ham

• rocket salad

• toasted pine nuts

• 2 sliced marinated/half sun-dried tomatoes

Just as you can tell its life story from the annual rings of a tree, Bunzlau Castle’s history is also woven into these two new decors. The anniversary decors are like circles reflecting the annual rings in the trunk of a tree.

The festive designs are full of memories, in which many of the familiar decors recur, surrounded by the recognisable blue border. The longer you look at it, the more of your favourite decors you will recognise.

Flower bulbs in eggshells

Spring is in the air, a time of renewal and freshness. What could be better than brightening up your home with flower bulbs in Bunzlau Castle tableware? Let spring flood in and create an atmosphere of cosiness with this perfect combination.

Getting started:

• Start by buying bulbs such as blue grapes and tete-a-tete at your local garden centre or florist. The blue of Bunzlau Castle and the blue grapes, together with the cheerful yellow of the tete-a-tete, instantly brings a fresh atmosphere into your home.

• Next, carefully take the bulbs apart, remove the soil and clean the roots

• Then place them in empty egg shells and place these in high and low egg cups. The difference in height and various decors create a playful effect.

What do you need?

• Blue grapes and tete-atete from your local garden centre or florist

• Empty egg shells.

• Various egg cups from Bunzlau Castle.

Tip: mix & match different eider cups and decor with each other, this will create an atmospheric effect on your table.

Flower bulbs in a colourful bowl

Another fun way to present flower bulbs is to hide them in a bowl with white gravel, available at the pet shop or garden centre.

Choose a nice low bowl and cover the bottom with the white gravel. Place the flower bulbs in the gravel. The contrast between the green of the bulbs and the white gravel gives a fresh look that perfectly suits the spring feeling.

What do you need?

• A Bunzlau Castle serving dish.

• White gravel from your local pet shop or garden centre.

• Blue grapes and tete-atete from your local garden centre or florist.
