by the Lumot Lake
Municipality of Cavinti, Province of Laguna, Philippines
Project Type: Hospitality and Leisure
Year: 2023 | Architectural Design 7
Team: Clint Daniel Abella Kerr Pagcaliwangan Angelo Agus John Belle Portento Mhoanna Besonaya
A tranquil retreat for restorative enjoyment away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The 5-star hotel resort complex seek to emphasize participatory processes involving the local community, complement the existing environment of Lumot Lake, and solidify Cavinti’s status as a growing centre for tourism activities for both local and international guests.
El Estanque Peninsula differentiates itself from other hospitality developments with the scenic upland lakeshore view innate to the site, a game and leisure fishing village, watersport activities, and glamping sites all in one development.
Lumot Lake is a man-made reservoir situated between the towns of Lumban and Cavinti in Laguna Province, which explains the site’s gently sloping terrain, as it was once mountainous and later dammed and flooded.
Proper distribution of massing and site planning were observed to maximize the land value and the views offered by the unique site.
The most prominent building, the five-storey 5-star Hotel, was placed at a convenient distance from the lake, allowing the smaller structures like villas and villages nearer the lakeshore.
Parking and service spaces are placed further inland, nearer to the access road, and are separated with a vegetation buffer.
Materiality of the development also take into account blending into the landscape while still being true to its identity as a man made structure.
Much like Lumot Lake itself, which has become both beneficial and indispensable to the local community.

Diagnostic Clinic
Municipality of Palauig, Province of Zambales, Philippines
Project Type: Healthcare
Year: 2022 | Architectural Design 5
First of its kind in the geographically isolated Zambales province in the central-western part of Luzon, the proposed publicly funded healthcare facility is set to serve not only the town of Palauig but the entire province.
The Palauig Town Diagnostic Clinic aims to provide early diagnosis for timely treatment for all citizens within the catchment area.
Establishing this healthcare facility will reduce the likelihood of individuals requiring hospital beds in the future.
Addressing the province’s limited bed capacity, long distances to clinics, especially for the indigenous sector, and long waiting times at the few district hospitals of Zambales.
City Public Library
City of Valenzuela, Metropolitan Manila, Philippines
Project Type: Civic Institutional
Year: 2020 | Architectural Design 3
The designer saw the development as a Space of Learning made possible by the City’s Growth Stakeholders
The stilted structure form is an application of how the early settlers of the city adapt to the geographical features of a water resource-rich location, an undulating roof based on the rivers and waterbodies of the city.
Materials used are among the top industrial products of Valenzuela City such as glass, concrete, and steel, an industrial identity manifestation.
The neo-brutalist design being patterened to the regional character and style of the commercial and industrial buildings throughout Valenzuela City.

During site selection and analysis, GIS played a key role in mapping both local context and the issues faced by Talavera. By analyzing site data such as population density, land use patterns, and road networks, I was able to understand their relationship to issues like congestion in the Poblacion district. Additional local information, such as soil, topography, climate, and hazard data, further informed the site selection, planning, and design process. Mapping these factors allowed for an evidence-based approach, providing justification and foundation for the planning, design, and development of a more efficient Talavera Municipal Government Center.

An academic research paper that includes recommendations in the form of diagrams, proposed road network maps, land use maps, and individual zoning maps of all 29 barangay administrative level divisions of the town. The proposed figures are based on the contour lines, hazards such as lahar, and the goal of multi-sectoral growth of Porac.

An academic research paper that includes recommendations in the form of park network diagrams and catchment area maps of the six cities and municipalities that belonged to the scope of area. The map outputs are then used as a visual comparison between the inventory of existing parks to the crafted parks and open spaces plan.
